Tiger Woods Looks Good as Son Charlie Kills it at Nicklaus Jr Event
Injuries can derail even the greatest careers, and Tiger Woods knows that better than most. From multiple back surgeries to a near-fatal car crash, the 15-time major champion has battled his body for decades.
His latest hurdle came in March 2025, when a torn Achilles tendon in his left leg required surgery, sidelining him from the Masters and once again casting doubt on a comeback.
But while Tiger’s clubs have stayed in the garage, his son Charlie has been lighting up the junior circuit. The 16-year-old won his first AJGA title at the Team TaylorMade Invitational in May, with 15-under par at Streamsong Resort’s Black Course.
Now, he’s competing at the Nicklaus Junior Championship in South Florida, where Tiger made a familiar appearance, supporting his son.
What turned heads this time, though, was how easily Woods appeared to move. Just days before, he was seen walking across sand at the Augusta Municipal short course, currently under development as part of a partnership with Augusta National.
His steady stride fueled speculation about a potential return. “Nice to see Tiger out walking and watching Charlie play” one fan commented on X.
Tiger hasn’t revealed a timeline, but the signs suggest his recovery is moving in the right direction. Amid the Big Cat’s recovery progress, one thing that hasn’t stopped him from making public appearances is Charlie Woods.

Tiger’s dedication to Charlie’s golf journey has been unwavering. Last December, he celebrated greenside as Charlie made a hole-in-one at the PNC Championship.
“That was the thrill of a lifetime,” Tiger had said at the time. Earlier this spring, he was spotted attending Charlie’s matches at the BallenIsles Country Club.
As for Charlie’s latest outing, the 16-year-old closed with a 2-under 69 at Tequesta Country Club on Wednesday to finish level par at the Nicklaus Junior Championship.
That earned him a tie for sixth out of 122 players, just four shots behind winner Jeremy Hsu. It capped off a stellar month that also saw him qualify for the U.S. Junior Amateur, set for July 21–26 at Trinity Forest in Dallas.
Tiger’s competitive return may remain uncertain, but his sideline presence remains powerful. And with Charlie rising fast, the Woods name still commands attention wherever it shows up on a leaderboard.
