Brad Pitt recalls going to AA amid Angelina Jolie divorce

Famous actor Brad Pitt recalled his first visit to an ‘Alcoholics Anonymous’ meeting after his divorce from Angelina Jolie. This period of his life was extremely turbulent for him and he decided to seek professional help.

“I needed to come to my senses about some things. I tried everything and anything, everything that people offered me. It was a difficult period. I needed a restart in life,” he said during an appearance on the “Armchair Expert” podcast.

He went to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting for a year and a half after his split from Angelina Jolie in 2016. He now says he initially felt intimidated when it was his turn to talk about his alcohol addiction, but was encouraged by others who spoke openly about their problem.

“It encourages you to say: ‘Okay, I’m going to step out of my comfort zone and see what happens,’ and then I really liked it,” said the actor, adding that he grew up in an environment where men insisted that their lives be wonderful.

“It was incredible. The men shared their experiences, talked about their flaws, their wrong moves, their desires and what hurts them with a lot of humor,” he said. Alcohol addiction played a big role in his divorce from Angelina Jolie.

The actress alleged that he physically assaulted her and their children on a plane while under the influence of alcohol. The couple officially divorced in 2019 and Pitt is currently in a relationship with Ines de Ramon.

Brad, despite his efforts to get closer to his children, continues to experience a painful distance from most of them. According to a report published by “Us Weekly”, the actor feels this emotional wound deeply, while his attempts to repair the relationship have proven unsuccessful, causing him great sadness. We recall that Pitt and his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, have six children.
