Ella Langley Pranks Riley Green, Wears A Fake Mustache During “You Look Like You Love Me”

Ella and Riley

A little prank never hurt anybody.

Ella Langley and Riley Green seem to be having fun on stage together again after fans thought there might be some bad blood in the never-ending love triangle saga.

Last night the pair hit the stage at First Bank Amphitheater in Franklin, Tennessee, for the Damn Country Music Tour. The night was filled with great moments during Riley Green’s headlining set, including him celebrating his bus driver’s birthday by bringing him on stage to play on “There Was This Girl.”

During one part of Riley Green’s set, just like all of the other tour stops with Ella Langley, he brought out his duet partner on stage to perform their hit singles “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do.” When Langley steps back on the stage for “YLLYLM,” she always starts at the top of the stage risers, working her way down to the main stage during the first verse. Green and Langley put on a little bit of a show with Green posing as a proper Southern gentleman helping her down the stage steps, giving the impression they are “flirting” with each other on stage.

And each night, the pair does this song and dance, the ladies swoon.

But last night, Langley decided to pull a fast one on Riley Green and prank him during this bit. When Langley returned to the stage for the duet, she put on a fake mustache, which is very fitting given the internet recently had a meltdown when he shaved it.

Fans instantly could see the furry friend on her upper lip, but since Riley Green stared at the crowd until he got up to help her down the steps, he had no idea what was happening. When he turned around and saw the mustache, the two laughed.

Riley Green then throws his hand in the air and shakes his head, appearing to be in disbelief that she’s rocking his signature mustache. Later in the song, where Green changes the lyrics to reflect Langley’s appearance, he adds a line to reflect her prank.

Well, I was down at a local beer joint with a few of the guysWhen this cute little country girl caught my eyeAnd boy, let me tell you, she was the prettiest thing I’d ever seen with bangs and boots, and a mustache…”

It’s a pretty hilarious moment, and fans loved seeing the two have fun with each other on stage. And props to Ella for confidently rocking that thing before slapping it on Riley Green’s shirt.

Langley sporting a mustache also seems fitting, given she says she convinced Riley to keep the stache after shooting the “YLLYLM” music video…well, Ella can’t take full credit. She also gave some to “God and his parents” for the good genes:

“I will tell you, everyone’s excited about Riley’s mustache, you can thank me for Riley’s mustache, other than God, I guess, and his parents. The ‘You Look Like You Love Me’ music video, I co-directed that, and I just knew I wanted it to be an old western. and one thing about my dad, he was watching old westerns or a war movie’s on Sunday’s after church.

And so I just grew up watching them, and I love them, and it really does feel like, when I was listening to the song, I just thought of it in a bar, kind of how an old western is. I told Riley that he could not shave his mustache off at least for the music video, and so here we are still a year later he has it, it’s great. I don’t think he can get rid of stache, either. We’re stuck this way.”

God bless Riley Green’s mustache.
