What is it that makes people feel so comfortable saying these things online?

Of course it’s easy to sit behind a keyboard and criticize someone. But attacking someone for their looks? Pretty disgusting.

Faith Hill recently made her first public appearance in quite a while when she stepped out at CMA Fest in Nashville this past weekend, greeting her fellow country stars like Jelly Roll and Kelsea Ballerini ahead of her husband Tim McGraw’s performance at Nissan Stadium.

Of course there were plenty of stories after the rare Faith Hill public sighting, including one from Country Living that used a photo of the country singer and 1883 actress’s appearance at an event for the UK launch of Paramount+.

But immediately, trolls began flocking to the post to criticize the 57-year old’s appearance. Some expressed genuine concern, while others were just flat-out rude:

“I hope she’s feeling well! Am I wrong thinking that her face doesn’t appear to have the symmetry it once had?”

“This is not a flattering hairstyle on her. Fluff it up and she will look great…especially if she smiles!”

“WOW! She Hasn’t Aged Well”

“She looks really old in this picture”

“She’s got some big ears”

“She is very pretty, but looks older than her years!!”

“Not aging well!”

“She could haunt a house”

“Boy, she got smacked in the face with an old age stick”

“Yikes, she’s not aging well!”

Disgusting.

But Faith’s fans were quick to rush to her defense, pointing out that she’s 57 years old and still looks great:

“Her husband has been through a number of surgeries and that has to be difficult for her. Aging isn’t easy but to be scrutinized by the public has to be very hard. We need to be kind and not find it so easy to criticize. She looks beautiful especially in the less formal pictures.”

“I think she looks amazing. I admire celebrities who embrace their aging bodies.”

“If we are some of the lucky ones We all age. She is stunning. Get over yourselves.”

“People expect others to not age! We are not meant to look young forever. Embrace ageism and screw all the haters. You are beautiful inside and out Faith”

“She’s 57 and aging gracefully. Good for her. Still beautiful as ever!”

“Will forever be one of the most beautiful women in music!!”

“Let’s accept aging!!! It’s beautiful to get older! We are strong and wise. We must change society standards on women’s looks. Nobody leaves this world looking 30 if you live long enough !!!!!!”

“I think she looks naturally beautiful instead of all filled and botoxed up!”

“It’s called aging naturally and beautifully, and choosing not do Botox because you are confident”

Of course internet trolls attacking people for their looks is nothing new, and it’s especially common when it comes to women. But one thing that I noticed is that it seemed to be other women who were commenting on her appearance more than men…

I mean, it’s not really a surprise that Faith Hill doesn’t look the same as she did back in 1999 when she was rolling around in the sheets in her “Breathe” music video. But for a 57-year old mother of 3, it’s hard to deny that Faith is still looking pretty dang good.

Faith’s appearance comes as her family finds themselves in the headlines after her daughter recently took to social media to set the record straight (no pun intended) on her sexuality.

Gracie McGraw, the oldest of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s three daughters, is making sure that everyone knows where she stands with her sexuality after a number of media outlets have published that she recently “came out” in conjunction with the start “pride month.”

On Monday afternoon, McGraw shared an Instagram story that said “HAPPY FREAKING PRIDE. I love being queer,” and a number of outlets like Parade, People, Page Six and more, all ran stories about her “confirming” or “coming out.”

However, Gracie followed it up with another story saying that it was not the case. Although, the post was obviously made at the beginning of pride month and McGraw seemingly hasn’t publicly acknowledged it before, McGraw took to social media to clarify that she has been “out” and that post was not her “coming out” post.

Her statement read:

“Hello all! It has come to my attention that some tabloids have taken an Instagram story I posted yesterday and have used it as clickbait, saying I’ve ‘come out.’

Let me be VERY clear here… I’ve been an out and proud queer, bisexual woman and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have and will always be very vocal about my support of the LGBTQIA+ rights and the community, but thank you so much to these tabloids for shedding light that it’s Pride Month!

So many people out there don’t have support, love, or understanding from their families when it comes to their sexuality or gender identity, but just know that there is a beautiful community out there that loves you and cares about and for you! Check on your people and keep safe out there. Give love to each other.”

This is not the first time that McGraw has spoken her mind to the public in response to some headlines. Last year, she revealed she was on Ozempic after people began to speculate about the use of the drug when she posted confident images in a bikini.

“I did use Ozempic last year, yes. I am now on a low dose of Mounjaro for my PCOS, as well as working out.”

Like her parents, McGraw is very musical and is pursuing a career in the arts. She leans more toward the musical/jazz side of the performing arts world but has a pretty good voice. McGraw most recently took the stage with her sisters and her dad at the Music City Rodeo singing “Last Dollar.” As Gracie is the sister holding the microphone, you can hear her voice prominently before their microphone fades out to reveal the girls singing the same song when they were children.

Grab a tissue before watching this because it will tug at your heartstrings.

But Gracie McGraw shines as a solo artist as well.
