Billionaire Jeff Bezos signs prenuptial agreement after losing tens of billions of dollars in first divorce

The wedding ceremony of billionaire Jeff Bezos and MC Lauren Sánchez took place on San Giorgio Maggiore island, from June 26 to June 28.
The ceremony was attended by many of the world’s top stars such as: Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates…
After the wedding, bride Lauren Sánchez posted a photo with her billionaire husband on her personal Instagram.
According to Page Six, a close source said that in fact, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez officially became husband and wife a month ago and this relationship is recognized under US law.
In addition, the couple also signed a prenuptial agreement in case of future divorce.
According to prominent lawyer Alphonse Provinziano, this means “preparing documents about complex accounting arrangements, business transactions in which he participated so that Ms. Lauren cannot later claim that he hid certain assets from her.”
Legal experts also believe that a prenuptial agreement is key to protecting Jeff Bezos’s vast fortune.
This move is said to have learned from Jeff Bezos’ first divorce from writer MacKenzie Scott in 2019 after 25 years of marriage. At that time, he had to give his ex-wife 4% of Amazon shares, equivalent to 38 billion USD.
The reason is that in 1993, this billionaire canceled the prenuptial agreement with MacKenzie, partly because Amazon at that time had an uncertain future as a newly established online sales site.
Thanks to the divorce settlement, MacKenzie instantly became one of the richest women in the world. According to Forbes, her net worth by 2025 will reach more than $67 billion.
In fact, prenuptial agreements are extremely popular among the super-rich, whose assets exceed hundreds of millions to billions of dollars. This contract not only makes it easier to divide assets in a divorce, but also regulates the use of other personal assets that can easily lead to complicated disputes.
Many contracts are even so binding that they stipulate financial penalties when one of the two parties commits adultery.
Advanced contracts also contain legal provisions that allow the applicant to choose which state or particular country’s law will apply when enforcing the judgment.
Jeff Bezos, born in 1964, is the founder of the multinational technology company Amazon. He is also known as the American media tycoon. According to Forbes, he is the third richest person in the world, behind only Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
Lauren Sánchez, born in 1969, is a famous American MC and journalist who won an Emmy Award. She is also an actress, writer and owner of the film production company Black Ops Aviation. According to Celebrity Net Worth, her assets are around 30 million USD.
