Carrie Underwood is known for her phenomenal country voice and sassy outfits that show off her toned legs. So fans were understandably thrown off when she debuted a sudden style switch-up—with some claiming she was “unrecognizable.”

On March 23, the American Idol judge took to Instagram with a video that raised eyebrows for more than one reason.

“Guess what I’m doing?” Underwood said to the camera before jumping into her hit song “Before He Cheats.”

The singer then sang, “I’m digging my key into the side of his little souped-up…” while marking up the side of a red vehicle with a key.

She wore an off-white bedazzled jacket with statement dangling earrings for the clip—but the most noticeable difference in her style was the oversized pair of glasses with clear frames.

After pausing, Underwood, 40, turned back to the camera and teased, “You gotta tune in to figure out what’s going on.”

She added, in the caption, “Ladies, don’t do this. You’ll ruin your car key! 😂 #CUonIDOL.”

In the comments, many Instagram users couldn’t help but point out Underwood’s change in appearance.

“Ummm who is this?? I don’t recognize her at all,” one person shared.

“You don’t look the same,” another follower echoed, brazenly suggesting she had “too much plastic surgery.”

“Anyone else feel like she’s unrecognizable??” another person asked, to which another replied, “Yes absolutely.”

“She got money and went all Hollywood,” a different user responded in part.

Someone else couldn’t see a difference in Underwood’s appearance other than her spectacles. “She has glasses on 😂,” they pointed out.

Meanwhile, others reminded fellow fans that Underwood suffered a facial injury requiring more than 40 stitches after she fell off her porch in 2017.

“Maybe stop talking about her looks. What is the point?” one Instagram user suggested.

Another declared, “She is still gorgeous. Everybody changes through life 💜.”

Someone else wrote, “I think she looks amazing ❤️.”
