Zach Bryan Mocks Kid Rock, Calls Turning Point USA Halftime Show “Embarrassing” And “Cringe”

Turning Point USA/Zach Bryan
Guess we know which halftime show he watched.
Zach Bryan took to Instagram after the Super Bowl, and the dueling halftime shows, to throw shade at Kid Rock and the Turning Point USA All-American Halftime Show – and doubled down after he began receiving messages from angry fans.
Thanks in part to an absolute snoozefest of a game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, the biggest storyline from Super Bowl LX will no doubt be the controversy surrounding Bad Bunny as the headliner for the halftime show. The Puerto Rican rapper has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump and his immigration policy, and many on both the right and left saw his selection as the headliner as a middle finger to the president from the NFL.
Now, in reality it was no doubt just a blatant money grab as the league tries to expand its reach beyond the United States, which is the same reason we’re getting a record 9 international games next year. But you know how it is in this politically charged climate. Everything’s a Rorschach test and people see what they want to see.
Anyway, the selection of Bad Bunny led conservative media organization Turning Point USA, which was founded by the late Charlie Kirk, to organize their own alternate halftime show, which aired at the same time and featured Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice and Gabby Barrett. And your opinion about either show probably depended on which side of the political aisle you fall on.
Well Zach Bryan took to Instagram to make it clear which side he was supporting, sharing a video of a friend jokingly watching the TPUSA halftime show on his phone while blocking out Bad Bunny with his hand. And Zach added his own commentary mocking Kid Rock:
“What kid rock actually thinks is happening across America”

While Zach clarified that his friend actually watched the Bad Bunny halftime show with him, apparently his joke upset quite a few people.
Zach took to Instagram to share some of the messages he received, while also doubling down and slamming the Turning Point USA halftime show:
“I don’t care what side you’re on, a bunch of adults throwing temper tantrums and their own halftime show is embarrassing as hell and the most cringe s— on the planet”

Now, it shouldn’t be surprising that Zach enjoyed the Bad Bunny halftime show. He seemingly endorsed the headliner’s anti-ICE comments at the GRAMMY Awards last week, sharing Bad Bunny’s anti-ICE rant from his acceptance speech to his Instagram story:

And he also seemed to take issue with Kid Rock’s testimony to Congress a couple weeks ago, though it was a little unclear what his problem was.
Kid Rock testified in front of the Senate Commerce Committee during a hearing on concert ticket prices, and had harsh words for Ticketmaster and Live Nation:
“In 2009, Congress was told – under oath – that merging Live Nation and Ticketmaster would benefit artists and fans. The CEO of Live Nation called the merger an “experiment” and promised it would increase competition, empower artists, and lower costs. He also said, and I quote, “a system that empowers artists benefits everyone.”
Almost need a rim shot after that.”
Kid Rock would go on to call the merger between Ticketmaster and Live Nation a “failed experiment,” although he admits it’s not the only problem with the ticketing industry:
“Should Ticketmaster and Live Nation be broken up? Probably. Would that alone fix things? I’m not sure it would.
But I am sure of this: No artist should be forced to sell their tickets without a say in who sells them and how they are sold.”
He then went on to blame corporate greed and the lack of a competitive market for the problems the industry is facing:
“If artists had real choice, real competition would follow. And tickets would end up in the hands of real fans, at the prices the artists set.
It’s no secret this industry is full of greedy snakes and scoundrels – too many suits lining their pockets off talent they never had and fans they mislead.
The truth is, much of this could have been – or still could be – solved through technology, especially proof-of-humanity tools. It hasn’t happened yet because there’s just too much money in the secondary ticket market.
Ticketing companies didn’t fail to stop this – it seems they chose not to.”
Regardless of how you feel about Kid Rock and his politics, his comments seem like something many (if not most) can agree on: There’s nobody who really thinks that Live Nation and Ticketmaster do a good job, right?
It’s an issue that Zach Bryan has obviously been outspoken about in the past, even naming his 2022 live album All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster. When he played Red Rocks last year he priced all tickets at $50 and only made them available the day of the show in an attempt to combat scalpers and Ticketmaster’s disastrous “dynamic pricing.”
But when somebody shared a video of Kid Rock’s testimony, with a caption featuring his quote saying that Live Nation and Ticketmaster should “probably” be broken up, Zach left a comment that had fans scratching their heads:
“Are you f—ing kidding”

Now, I’m not sure what exactly Zach had a problem with. Maybe it was just the fact that Kid Rock was testifying before Congress in the first place, or maybe he didn’t think that his comments were strong enough. Surely he doesn’t disagree that Ticketmaster and Live Nation need split up, so who knows.
But regardless, it’s safe to say that Zach isn’t a Kid Rock fan – and he definitely wasn’t a fan of the Turning Point USA halftime show.
