Britney Spears Defends Justin Bieber While Speaking Out Against Her Critics: ‘Shame on Those Who Judged’

The “Gimme More” singer came to Bieber’s defense after he posted photos of his son Jack Blues Bieber in an Instagram post Tuesday, on Sept. 9

Britney Spears is coming to Justin Bieber’s defense after he was criticized for including photos of himself at home with his son in his Swag II promo.

In several black-and-white photos shared to promote the album’s release on Friday, Sept. 5, Justin, 31, is seen shirtless in a pair of jeans over sweatpants, while he holds up his son Jack Blues Bieber, 1, with Jack’s back turned to the camera. Justin shares the toddler with wife Hailey Bieber.

In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, Sept. 9, Spears, 43, reposted one of Justin’s photos, writing the caption, “Shame on those who judged my home in my pajamas !!! I’m in love with this picture !!! So so beautiful !!! 📷: @lilbieber.”

Justin regularly shares photos of his son on social media, with his face obscured. On Monday, Sept. 8, the Grammy winner posted a few Instagram photos of himself and his son spending time together in a kayak on the water. Both of their backs were to the camera as they looked out onto the water.

Justin sported a red beanie, a matching red sweatshirt and sweatpants. In Justin’s photo, Jack is sitting on his father’s lap as he faces the water.

Along with photos of Jack enjoying their day on the water, the “Peaches” singer added a couple of Instagram selfies of himself in the same red beanie. “🍒,” he captioned the selfie post.

The cryptic post from Spears comes shortly after the pop star reflected on her marriage to Sam Asghari in an Instagram post shared on Aug. 24.

“We’re just people so fragile and human the hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years …” Spears began in the caption, which has since been deleted. “I was cut off from calling or texting and I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears its weird me and Sam were married but it almost felt like a fake distraction to help me deal with it …”

Spears, who shares sons Jayden James and Sean Preston, with ex-husband Kevin Federline, was married to Asghari for 14 months before Asghari filed for divorce in August 2023. Their split was finalized in May 2024.

Asghari responded to Spears’ remarks about their marriage, exclusively telling PEOPLE per his rep from BAC Talent: “Our marriage was very real to me. It may have been short, but we were together for seven years. I was in love with her, will always have love for her, and wish her the best always.”
