Kid Rock has released a new song, but it’s safe to say his fans aren’t impressed.

The 55-year-old musician announced on his Instagram on Wednesday, May 13, that he has something new and exciting for his fans. Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, posted a video showing himself seated on a stool, strumming his guitar and performing a slower rendition of his popular song ‘Til You Can’t.

A wooden wall featuring a large crucifix cutout with light streaming through served as his backdrop. In another image, Kid Rock was dressed in jeans, a green jacket and an oversized cream cowboy hat as he posed dramatically while playing his guitar. This follows recent controversy surrounding the rock star’s provocative stunt involving the US military.

In his post, Kid Rock wrote, “This song – and now video, means more to me than most will ever know. There was no way to include everyone I love who has been so important in my life, so apologies in advance if anyone feels left out – just know I love you all and dearly miss all of you who are no longer with us. God Is Good.”

He added, “Full video is live now. Link in bio.” The singer then provided a link to his YouTube channel, where fans can view and hear the reworked version in its entirety.

The YouTube description offered additional insight into Kid Rock’s new song, stating, “Kid Rock reimagines ‘Til You Can’t’ as a slowed-down, emotional ballad, adding a powerful new verse he says came to him in the middle of the night and is rooted in Jesus, faith, and spiritual reflection.

“This intimate performance shifts the song’s urgency into a moment of pause and conviction, inviting listeners to reflect on purpose, belief, and living with meaning before time runs out.”

“The song was originally written by Ben Stennis and Matt Rogers and performed by Cody Johnson,” the description continued. However, the musician’s fans have made their opinions on the new release abundantly clear.

Under the Instagram teaser Kid Rock posted, one commenter wrote, “Washed up!!!!! Trying way to hard,” while another added, “Sounds like herpes. Perfect for MAGA”

A third individual commented, “‘Kid Rock (Robert Ritchie) has a history of arrests related to physical altercations, primarily in the 2000s, with notable incidents in 2005 and 2007.

“‘These involved misdemeanor assault and battery charges, typically stemming from fights at clubs or restaurants, resulting in probation and fines.’ Sounds like a good Christian to me,” the commenter continued.

This led a fourth user to quip, “You are about as Christian as Satan,” accompanied by a laughing face emoji. Meanwhile, a fifth wrote, “Yikes…bring the old Kid Rock back. Whatever this is needs to go away.” A sixth individual posted, “Peace of s–t song just like you.”

The backlash follows Kid Rock’s controversial decision to publicly back President Donald Trump by staging an alternative halftime show during this year’s Super Bowl, in contrast to Bad Bunny’s performance. He also joined forces with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a campaign to champion the Make America Healthy Again movement, where the pair exercised shirtless and downed glasses of whole milk together — a move that proved equally divisive among his fanbase.
