After years of silence on the topic, the Grammy-winning artist subtly mentioned on Sirius XM’s The Howard Stern Show in June 2022 that he and his longtime girlfriend had gotten engaged and welcomed a baby girl.

“I met a really beautiful person that made me feel like a human being again,” Malone said of his then-fiancée. “It’s the guidance out of the dark into the light … She saved my f—— life — it’s pretty epic.”

In March 2025, however, TMZ posted footage shot by a fan that showed the singer cuddling up with a new woman identified as Christy Lee. The video sparked speculation that Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, and his fiancée had called it quits.

They got engaged in 2021

Malone proposed to his ex-fiancée during a trip to Las Vegas in 2021 — and at first, she said no.

While recounting their engagement story on the podcast Call Her Daddy, the musician said that he had lost “a significant amount of money” gambling and was “hammered.” He asked her if she wanted to marry him and she told him to ask her tomorrow.

“I was like, ‘Hey, you wanna marry me?’ ” Malone told host Alex Cooper in 2023. “I got a ring and all this stuff. And she said ‘no.’ She’s like, ‘Ask me tomorrow’ and I was like, ‘Alright.’ And then I did and I was sober and it was nice.”

They share one daughter

The former couple welcomed a child together around May 2022. Like his ex-fiancée, Malone hasn’t revealed his daughter’s name, but he did get her initials, DDP, tattooed on his forehead five months after she was born.

The “Better Now” rapper said on Call Her Daddy that he always wanted to have a big family and that his then-fiancée was the “No. 1 mom in the f—— universe.” He later told Apple Music in 2023 that becoming a dad slowed him down “party-wise,” something that used to be a sticking point in his relationship.
