Get this — Joe‘s scared of Avril Lavigne! According to his brother Kevin, the Jonas Brothers singer had a recurring nightmare that Avril was going to come and kill him as a kid.

“We shared a room at this time in bunk beds. So above his bed when he woke up in the morning, I had a giant poster printed above his bed of Avril Lavigne staring down at him,” Kevin recalled during an interview, with Joe adding, “We met years later and she was really nice. We toured with her. It’s all good.”

Ethan has two major phobias: misophonia and trypophobia. Misophonia consists of having a strong reaction to specific noises – and for Ethan, he can’t tolerate chewing noises. People with trypophobia, on the other hand, cringe at the sight of clusters of small holes or bumps. Ethan is also pretty scared of big, wild animals (specifically sharks).

Grayson is afraid of heights and being stuck in small spaces. But the boys decided to face their fears in a series of videos, which consisted of things like sky diving, locking Grayson in an ice cooler and Ethan listening to extreme chewing. Although it was definitely hard for them (Grayson almost peed himself before they went skydiving, LOL!), we’re proud of them for facing their fears.

You’re not going to believe this but Ally is scared of balloons! When a fan asked the Fifth Harmony singer about her fear on Twitter, she wrote, “Latex balloons, they give me anxiety.”

Shawn Mendes

Shawn has a pretty interesting phobia. It turns out, the “In My Blood” crooner is actually terrified of having to pee while he’s on stage!

“I’m so worried I’m gonna have to pee so bad onstage, so I’m running back and forth before the show. It’s actually a really big fear of mine!” he explained at Billboard‘s Live Music Summit in 2018.

We mean, we can understand how distracting it might be if he had to go really bad while performing, so we get it Shawn! The singer is also pretty scared of the ocean, which he revealed in an interview with Buzzfeed.

Miley Cyrus

Miley is actually terrified of heights and escalators! And unfortunately, she had to face these fears while filming her movie, So Undercover.

“In the opening scene, I’m dangling off the side of a building in New Orleans which is 100% real. I am so scared of heights. Going up an escalator freaks me out,” she told Digital Spy at the time. “My dad was like, ‘No, you can’t do this!’ I was literally walking on the side of the building, which is one of the craziest things I’ve ever done.”

We’re proud of her for conquering her fears. You go girl!

Taylor Swift

You’re not going to believe what the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer is scared of. Drum roll please… It’s sea urchins!

“They’re like a grenade. They’re sitting there waiting to completely injure you,” Taylor explained on The Ellen Show. “You can’t see a sea urchin if you’re in the Caribbean. You’re like, ‘This water’s so beautiful, it’s amazing.’ And you’re walking, it’s clear water, you can’t see a sea urchin’s right there. And then you step on one and it has barbs and it goes into whatever it touches. And then you have to go to the emergency room and it has to be surgically removed. You could lose your foot, you could lose your hand, you could lose your hand trying to get it off of your foot! So I don’t like sea urchins.”

OK,  after that story we’re a little scared of sea urchins too. LOL. The singer is also scared of getting arrested, err framed actually.

“Look at me! I wouldn’t survive in jail,” she told Ellen DeGeneres, who assured her that she’d most likely have some fans in prison.

Lili Reinhart

This one may be one of the strangest fears. Lili is actually terrified of sitting in a seat with crumbs on it! She took to Twitter to explain her irrational fear.

“So one of my biggest fears/quirks, whatever you call it, is being stuck sitting in a seat with crumbs on it,” she shared. I know it’s strange. But I’m on an airplane and there’s crumbs EVERYWHERE and I’m trying not to have a panic attack or throw up.”

“I am so uncomfortable. My back is instinctively arching away from my seat,” she continued. “Literally just had a shiver go up my body when I told myself not to look at the ground, which is COVERED IN CRUMBS. My god, someone bring me a vacuum.”

We’re glad she made it through the flight alive!

Camila Mendes

As for her Riverdale costar, Camila is terrified of bees.

“Hey look it’s @CamilaMendes’ worst nightmare,” Lili wrote on Twitter, retweeting a video of bees swarming a car.

“NOPE,” Camila responded.

Ariana Grande

Ariana actually has quite a few fears. She’s scared of germs, damaging her vocal chords, her hair falling out, people being mean to her, the dark and looking straight into a camera!

“One of my big fears is something happening to my voice because vocal chords are fragile little things,” she told Very.co.uk.

She also explained to Complex Magazine, “I’m terrified of looking straight into the camera. I see people on the other side of the lens and the whole judgmental world of pop culture waiting with their pitchforks and torches.”

Kristen Stewart

Kristen may be able to take on werewolves and vampires in Twilight, but in real life, she’s scared of horses! The actress opened up about her fear while promoting her movie, Snow White and the Huntsman, which involved a ton of horseback riding scenes.

“I got to jump off cliffs and ride horses, and that terrifies me,” she said. “I was really, really not happy about having to do all that [horseback riding]. I don’t like that – I hate that.”

But where did her fear come from?

“I fell off a horse once and hurt myself really badly,” she added. “I broke and dislocated my elbow when I was, like, nine.” Ouch!

Get this — Dove is actually scared of cups! Um, what?

“I only ever drink out of mugs. Even water,” she told Us Weekly. “Cups freak me out!”

Shay Mitchell

Our favorite Pretty Little Liars actress is not a fan of rats.

“I will sky dive. I will jump out of a plane. I will bungee jump. I will do everything, but rodents and being in a small, tight space, not so good,” Shay revealed. Don’t worry girl, we feel you on this one.

Zayn Malik

It’s a pretty known fact that Zayn suffers from major anxiety when it comes to performing. But we bet you didn’t know that he’s also scared of water because he can’t swim!

“I’m scared of a few things,” he explained in an interview with Vervegirl. “I’m scared of heights. I don’t like heights and when Louis messed about on stairs I hate it. I’m scared of rides and I’m also scared water. I can’t swim.”

Harry Styles

As for his former One Direction member, Harry is not a fan of snakes, rollercoasters, the dark or the dentist!

“Scared of the dark and the dentist,” he tweeted back in 2014.

“I think if it came down to it I’m probably a little afraid of snakes,” he also explained to Vervegirl. “I have a feeling if a snake was in front of me I just wouldn’t be a fan.”

But his strangest fear? The “Sign Of The Times” singer is also terrified of needles. We’re all a little confused about this one, especially because Harry’s got over 50 tattoos!

“I am afraid of needles,” he has said. “I look away. I think it hurts more when you watch for some reason.”

Louis Tomlinson

As for Louis, he’s got a fear of pigeons.

“I can’t stand them and one once flew into my bathroom window,” he explained in an interview with Vervegirl. “I went in to have a wee, minding my own business and woah, there was a bird in the bathroom.”

He also added that he’s scared of aging, which I think we can all relate to honestly.

Niall Horan

And Louis is not alone! It turns out, Niall‘s also scared of birds!

“I’m claustrophobic so I’m scared of tight spaces,” he told Vervegirl. “I’m the same as Louis. I hate birds. Especially birds indoors. Birds indoors is the most horrible thing ever.”

“I get really nervous if pigeons are flying around before shows,” he has also said.

The singer also opened up about the fear while appearing on James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke.

“I hate birds, mostly pigeons. I think they’re horrible,” he explained. “I just don’t like the fact that they’re not scared of us unless you get really close to them. People have to run at a flock of pigeons to make them move.”

But Liam‘s fear may be the most odd. Get this — he’s actually terrified of spoons! OK, we’ve got a lot of questions.

“Ever since I was little, I’ve never been able to use a spoon,” he said. “So I don’t eat soup. I drink jelly. I eat cereal in two cups, one with milk and one with cereal.”

He later explained that it’s not exactly the utensil he’s scared of, but more of using a spoon that’s not his.

“I’m not so much scared of spoons, I’ll hold one,” he told Capital FM. “But I don’t like eating with them, if they’re not my spoons, if that makes sense. It is a bit weird.”

But where did the fear come from?

“When I was a kid I was a bit naughty at school and when you were naughty they made you do the washing up. I had to wash all these nasty spoons and then it’s just stuck with me after,” he continued. “I don’t know what people are doing with their spoons, I don’t want to know!”

The thing we’re wondering here is, why doesn’t the same apply for forks and knives? *Shrugs!*

Just like Ethan, Kendall is not a big fan of small holes.

“Anyone who knows me knows that I have really bad trypophobia,” the model explained on her blog, which is unfortunately now taken down. “Trypophobics are afraid of tiny little holes that are in weird patterns.”

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star claimed that things that could set her off include pancakes, honeycombs or lotus heads.

“It sounds ridiculous but so many people actually have it! I can’t even look at little holes — it gives me the worst anxiety,” she wrote. “Who knows what’s in there???”

Kylie Jenner

As for her sis, Kylie revealed in an episode of Life Of Kylie that she’s terrified of butterflies! During a trip to the zoo, the reality star started freaking out after she entered the butterfly exhibit.

“I’m scared if one lands on me!” Kylie said, visibly upset. “I’m terrified of butterflies. All butterflies. This is how I think of them. Cut the wings off and if you just look at their bodies they’re not that pretty.”

Justin Bieber

You won’t catch Justin in the ocean much, and that’s because he’s scared of sharks.

“My biggest fear is sharks,” he told Jimmy Fallon. “Im scared to go in water that I can’t see the bottom because then I’m like, ‘What is in there?’”

Selena Gomez

And the same goes for his ex-girlfriend!

“My biggest fear is the ocean. I love to be in the ocean, so it makes no sense that I’m afraid of it,” Selena told Twist. “But you never know what’s underneath the water. When I’m surfing I forget about it. But I definitely do not want to go on a cruise anytime soon!”

The “Back To You” songstress is also scared of needles and tangled wires, so uh, we’re not sure how she handles a pair of headphones.

And it turns out, Camila is scared of the ocean too.

“I really have to get over my fear of sharks and the ocean. If I’m in the ocean and my feet can’t touch the sand I won’t do it, I freak out,” she told Buzzfeed. “I went to Cancún this year with my family, and we went scuba diving, and I literally was having an anxiety attack while scuba diving. I was like, ‘It’s right behind me! I know it, it’s right behind me!’ It was not, I’m still here, but it was horrible. I peed a little bit in the ocean, and I was like, ‘The shark can trace my pee, I know he’s coming!’”

Demi Lovato

As for Demi, she’s not a fan of elevators. But she’s got a very good reason behind the fear.

“I’m afraid of elevators because I’ve gotten stuck three times,” Demi explained. “The first time I was with my sister Dallas. I was 7. I started beating on the door and crying. I was stuck for like five minutes.”

“The third time I was in the elevator it was spazzing out and shaking. It shot up, then shot back down and then shot up! I literally just sat there and was like, ‘Great, awesome. This is my third time!’”
