Country Music Icon, 63, Blasted by Son in ‘Disturbing’ Online Rant
The country singer’s son did not hold back.
Billy Ray Cyrus and his son, Trace Cyrus, are still at odds.
On June 10, Trace posted a concerning message on Instagram, accusing his famous father of missing his grandmother’s funeral years ago and suggesting that the country music icon “get right with God.”
“This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic,” Trace, 36, captioned a post. “He really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn’t come to LA for Mammie’s funeral while he was still married to my mom. Even after his daughter got him a 60k private jet like he demanded then he still didn’t come even alter the plane was paid for.”
“You’re the lamest man to ever walk planet earth. Honestly embarrassed to ever have considered you my idol. & The best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I’m old like you. Christ is King. Get right with God. You need it,” Trace added.
Trace captioned the post with a clown emoji and turned the comments off. However, Trace shared a subsequent post comparing his dad’s looks to those of Nicholas Cage’s son, and fans reacted there.
“Your posts have been really disturbing and seeing everyone in the comments not acknowledging that is creeping me out,” one person wrote.
“Man, don’t get me wrong, but it looks like you’re totally running after him and he doesn’t want to have contact with you. It’s been a long time since you’ve been attacking him online, and looks like he couldn’t care less.. I think you should make up with him.. Miley already did. And if he doesn’t want to, just let it go and give it to God,” someone else added.
“Seems like a cry for help from a son that desperately needs attention from his father. Bullying him isn’t the answer btw,” a third comment read.
That last comment received a response from Trace.
“No I’m past the point of even caring if I ever speak to him again. I’ve surpassed him in every metric as a man on this planet. There’s nothing left to learn from his except from his mistakes. I had hope at one point but I’m convinced he’s finally a lost cause. I’ll continue to thrive and as the oldest son of the family the Cyrus last name will continue through me and my many children I plan to have. I will raise them the right way and be a part of their life no matter what the circumstances are,” he said.
This is just the latest chapter in the ongoing family feud that seemed to start after Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus divorced in 2022.
