John Daly’s Son Takes a Page Out of Charlie Woods’s Book Amid Form Resurgence

Tiger Woods‘s son is killing it at the junior level. But it’s John Daly‘s son who is stealing the spotlight at the moment. Charlie Woods has found great form recently as he is consistently finishing in the top 10 in various tournaments. The young protege has been on a great run ever since he won the Team TaylorMade Invitational back in May. And he hasn’t stopped yet. But so hasn’t John Daly II, who also got a big win in July with the Southern Amateur Championship. And he has found success once again.
Arkansas Men’s Golf shared a post on Instagram congratulating Daly II on his incredible performance recently. He helped the team win the Blessings Collegiate Invitational a few hours ago. John also won the individual championship at the Blessings Golf Club during the event. The caption read, “Congratulations, LJ @johndalyll on leading the #HOGS to victory at the @blessingscollegiate @razorbackmgolf played so well at home – enjoy the win!”
This comes just days after Woods’s big finish in a junior event. Charlie got a 4th-place finish in the South Florida PGA Invitational West. He tied with one of the biggest stars in Florida, Clint Lewis, at 4-under 140, 5 strokes away from the top of the leaderboard. The title was tied between Jack Ryan Donovan and Henry Liebwein, while Evan Booth finished solo third.
Daly II also got a second-place finish in the Bearcat Invitational recently. He also got a 5th place finish in the U.S. Amateur Championship after he was beaten by Mason Howell in the quarter finals. Woods, on the other hand, was close to finishing 2nd in the Boy’s Junior PGA Championship.
That would have earned him a place in the Junior Ryder Cup squad. However, a final-round blunder saw him slip to T9 and out of contention for a spot on Team U.S. Despite this setback, Woods still managed to string together a series of impressive top-10 finishes. He had been in prime position for a runner-up finish at the Junior PGA Championship after back-to-back rounds of 66 vaulted him into contention. But in the final round, his momentum unraveled on the back nine.
After turning in even-par 36, Woods stumbled between holes 12 and 15, with bogeys on 12 and 14 followed by a costly double bogey on the par-4 15th. That four-hole stretch turned what could have been a steady closing round into a 74, dropping him to 9-under overall and leaving him tied for ninth. The stumble cost him a Junior Ryder Cup spot, yet it also highlighted the growing consistency in his game as he continues to collect valuable top-10 results.
Want to know how well Charlie Woods is performing? Then let’s take a look at some more of his recent results.
How close is Charlie Woods getting to winning another title?
There is no doubt that John Daly II is performing really well. But Charlie Woods has also been in excellent form recently. According to The Palm Beach Post, he had been getting some great results over the past couple of months despite not grabbing any victories. Back on August 25 in the American Heritage Invitational at Lago Mar Country Club, Woods finished 12th with a 5-over par. A week later, playing in the Central Florida Prep Invitational at Country Club of Orlando, he finished solo 15th.
That’s when his series of top-10 finishes began. In the Morrison Invitational, Charlie got a 7th-place finish, followed by a win in the Palm League Invitational. Charlie Woods then got a runner-up in Pine Crest at The Bear’s Club and a T9 in Jupiter at Lost Tree Club. Judging by this, it won’t come as a surprise if he also ends up winning another trophy soon.
