The golf record Bernhard Langer holds that Tiger Woods will be desperate to beat before he retires

Time is certainly ticking for Tiger Woods in terms of his career in golf and with the years dwindling away, he’ll have his eyes set on a few more records he can look to break before he eventually retires.
With Woods out injured once again and not like being anywhere close to being back on the golf course until 2026 at the earliest, it remains to be seen how much he’ll continue to play.
Of course, one option for Tiger down the road could be to play on the Champions Tour.
Many players have had huge success on that very tour, with the likes of Padraig Harrington, Ernie Els and Bernhard Langer all doing well.
Speaking of Langer, the German is arguably the best Champions Tour player there’s ever been and his 47 wins on there is a record.
However, that’s not the record Tiger Woods will be wanting to take off Langer if and when he does join the seniors tour.

The record Tiger Woods will want off Bernhard Langer
With multiple major titles and a huge number of PGA Tour wins between them, both Bernhard Langer and Tiger Woods know a thing or two about winning.
Indeed, they both know a thing or two about winning big as well.
Woods’ win by 15 shots at the US Open in 2000 and his 12 shot win at The Masters in 1997 are both magical achievements.
However, when it comes to the leading player on the Champions Tour, it is Langer who holds the current record for the biggest winning margin.
Back in 2014 at the Senior Open Championship, it was Langer who dominated the field as he romped home with a lead of 13 shots.
It was the biggest win in Champions Tour history, surpassing the 1997 win by Hale Irwin at the Senior PGA.
With Tiger commenting in recent years about his openness to playing the senior tour at some point, it goes without saying that this is a record he’ll have his eye firmly on.
And let’s be honest, if anyone can do it, it’s going to be Tiger Woods.
Right now, the focus for Tiger is purely getting back to fitness and being healthy. But going forward, he’ll crave those wins and in doing so, will be gunning for Langer’s record at some point.
