Rumors about the bruise on Elon Musk’s eye the day he left the White House, an incident that changed Trump’s attitude

After 130 days, Elon Musk showed up at the White House with a black eye on Friday on his final day of work as a “special government employee.”

Fight with the Minister of Finance?

Elon Musk flew into a violent rage during an Oval Office argument, former Trump strategist Steve Bannon has revealed.

Bannon told the Daily Mail that the billionaire had “insulted” Finance Minister Scott Bessent when questioned about the Department of Government Efficiency’s meager savings.

Elon Musk (left) is said to have had a brawl with the Treasury Secretary.

Scott Bessent called him out and said, “You promised us a trillion dollars in cuts and now you’re down to $100 billion. What are you doing?” And that’s when Elon got angry. It’s a sensitive subject for Elon, Bannon said.

“It wasn’t an argument, it was a fight. Elon basically shoved him,” Bannon added.

According to Bannon, the clash occurred as Musk and Bessent walked from the Oval Office to Chief of Staff Susie Wiles’ office, then passed through the National Security Adviser’s office.

“Trump 100% stood by Bessent after the clash,” Bannon added.

The event that made Mr. Trump change his attitude

Musk’s standing in Trump’s orbit also declined after a leak in March that he had been given access to top-secret military briefings on China, which Trump abruptly canceled, according to Bannon.

Bannon stressed that this was a turning point: “Elon has completely changed since that moment.”

Musk’s stint as a “special government employee” only lasted five months, so there was much speculation that he would leave his role.

But it’s still unclear exactly why he’s leaving. Eric Schiffer, a leading tech investor and chairman of private equity firm Patriarch Organization and president of Reputation Management Consultants, told Newsweek that Musk’s decision to step down may have been a strategic move to restore his image.

Polls from HarrisX, Echelon Insights and Global Strategy/Navigator Research show widespread discontent with Musk’s role in government, with 55% disapproving of his involvement and 28% believing Trump has given him too much power.

This also affects the reputation of Musk’s companies. The Axios Harris Poll 100 ranked Tesla and SpaceX near the bottom of the list, at 95th and 86th, respectively.

Musk appeared at the White House on Thursday for a press conference with Trump following news of his resignation. Musk later revealed that his 5-year-old son, X, was responsible for the bruise.
