The last straw!!! Nicole Kidman tried to save this marriage but Keith Urban said…NO!

Nicole Kidman wasn’t ready to give up on her relationship with Keith Urban, ahead of their separation.

“She didn’t want this,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

PEOPLE confirmed on Sept. 29 that the longtime couple had split after 19 years of marriage. TMZ was first to report news of the breakup.

Reps for Kidman and Urban did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Kidman, 58, and Urban, 57, married in June 2006 and share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

Amid the separation, the source says “Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another.”

Kidman, who recently wrapped filming Practical Magic 2 in London, shared “summer memories” on Instagram Aug. 19, showing time spent with her daughters and extended family.

Urban, meanwhile, has been on tour, with his next stop scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 2, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Back in June, Kidman celebrated her 19th wedding anniversary with a simple black and white photograph on Instagram, captioning the post, “Happy Anniversary Baby ❤️ @KeithUrban.”

In December 2024, Kidman also told PEOPLE that she loved date nights with Urban — especially when the plan was a surprise.

“I like being asked out, which he still does,” she said at the time. “Seven nights ago we went to dinner in New York. We love Japanese food, but I’m open [to everything]. I like not knowing where he’s going to take me. Surprise me, baby!”
