Country Star Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction Onstage During Live Show: ‘My Worst Nightmare Came True’

The former ‘The Voice’ finalist, 27, had to roll with the punches.

Emily Ann Roberts’ show in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday, Oct. 26, didn’t turn out the way she had planned. But she proved that during any live set, if something goes wrong, you just have to roll with the punches—and that’s exactly what she did.

The country music singer/songwriter and former Team Blake runner-up on Season 9 of The Voice took to Instagram over the weekend, revealing that she suffered an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction during her concert at the City Winery in Atlanta.

Roberts, known for songs like “Pretty In Pink” and “Chickens,” said she was belting out the lyrics to the latter of the tunes when her “worst nightmare came true” — the top button on her outfit popped off, giving concertgoers an eyeful of her exposed chest. Luckily, though, she was able to catch the snafu quickly enough to control the situation before any folks got a bigger reveal of her assets.

“Well, I may not have filmed a ‘get ready with me,’ but I have a story for you,” Roberts, 27, said in the clip, sharing a hilarious yet mortifying storytime for her fans and followers.

Continuing to tell the tale of the evening’s events, which happened earlier that night, she then got closer to the camera lens to whisper the details of the NSFW situation that had unfolded, directing her message to adults-only viewers.

“So tonight was the night that I almost showed my bare b—ies to a whole sold-out crowd,” Roberts explained, trying to be as discreet as possible, as many know her for her wholesome presence and personality. “I had to whisper it because there are children on here. So there I was two songs in, just feeling myself in this bad girl outfit,” she continued, showing off the onstage glam look that she had initially intended to flaunt.

Of note, Roberts’ initial outfit of choice was incredibly stunning, as she wore a pink suit adorned with metallic accents. The top, a fun and girly halter with a connecting skirt and three front bows securing the front, just didn’t work out in the end, as it came undone.

The Humiliating Moment Happened During Her Song ‘Chickens’

“I had fancy pants on and everything…. Well. It’s held together by three little flimsy snags. And one snag decided to pop open in the middle of, you guessed it, ‘Chickens,’” Roberts recalled of the humiliating moment before proving that, despite the outfit disaster, she can still make light of a bad situation.

“I about went to bed with chickens and a bunch of strangers tonight,” she joked. “We made it through the song. We resnapped ourselves, and then I hollered at my husband.”

She Ended up Wearing a Sweater for the Rest of the Show

Roberts explained that she then turned her back away from the audience so she could cover up the top half of her concert clothes for the rest of the night, wearing a sweater over her glam in front of a sold-out crowd.

Snapping her fingers and swaying from side to side, Roberts joked, “For the rest of my 90-minute show, I sang like this. Hot, right? That’s how I felt. Hot.”

Even though Robert’s evening could be referred to as a hot mess, she delivered the rest of her songs without any major hiccups, and even left fans smiling with a heartwarming “Happy Birthday” sing-along to a little girl who joined her onstage, as shown in the TikTok video below.
