Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estevez, and Anthony Michael Hall – who starred in The Breakfast Club in 1985 – were all sitting on a panel together at the event.

Molly, who played Claire Standish in the movie, said: “I feel very emotional and moved to have us all together.”

Emilio then addressed his past absences, and joked: “We don’t have to use the cardboard cutout anymore.

“I feel really moved that we’re all together.”

Emilio, who played athlete Andrew Clark, explained: “I skipped all my high school reunions, so this was something that finally felt like I needed to do, just for myself.

“But this one felt special because it’s here in Chicago where we made the film, it’s the 40th anniversary, and I just love all of them so it just made sense.”

Ally, who played Allison Reynolds in the movie, spoke about how close the cast became during filming for the movie.

She said: “I was really happy when we were making this movie.

“We all really … I don’t know if you can tell but we all really do love each other.”

She added: “It was a dream. A joyful experience.”

POSSIBLE SEQUEL?

The flick was directed by John Hughes, who was also behind several other beloved flicks such as Curly Sue, Uncle Buck, Home Alone, and Sixteen Candles.

The iconic movie director and filmmaker died in August 2009 at the age of 59.

The cast addressed a possible sequel, but admitted they were reluctant out of respect for John.

“It was something that was conjured and thought about,” Anthony shared, referencing one of his last conversations with the film’s director.

Molly added: “I personally don’t believe in remaking that movie because I think this movie is very much of its time.

“It resonates with people today but I believe in making movies that are inspired by other movies, but build on it and represent what’s going on today.”

She added: “You know it’s very white, this movie.

“You don’t see a lot of different ethnicities; we don’t talk about gender, none of that, and I feel like that really doesn’t represent our world today.

“So I would like to see movies that are inspired by ‘The Breakfast Club’ but take it in a different direction.”

‘I FEEL OLD NOW’

Photos from the reunion have now circulated online, with many fans quick to react.

“Holy sh*t I feel old now,” said one person.

“Everyone is almost unrecognizable…except for Emilio Estevez, dude looks hilariously the same,” penned a second.

A third added: “The only really recognizable [one] is Molly Ringwald.”

While a fourth said: “Emilio hasn’t changed a whole lot.”

“Emilio has aged the least – by a mile,” echoed a fifth.

And a sixth said: “They all aged great.”
