It is not uncommon that current stars today are influenced from those who came before them. However, sometimes it is surprising to learn just who influenced who.
When thinking of Post Malone, country music roots may not be what first comes to mind. Although granted, he seems to be increasing in that category. However typically hip hop, pop rap, trap, and pop music comes to mind when thinking of the star. Despite his seemingly preferred genre the star recently opened up his connection with the country singer. While many know Post Malone by his chosen stage name, few recognize his birth name — Austin Richard Post. The Tennessean shares that his birth name may have had some inspiration from the famous country singer. Shelton shared that Malone’s mother jokes that she named him after Shelton’s debut album, ‘Austin.’ Additionally, it seems that Malone wasn’t the only artist Blake Shelton was inspiring. He also shared, “Hardy tells how watching me sing ‘Ol’Red’ at CMA Fest at Nissan Stadium from the nosebleed seats made him want to be an artist.”
Rather than allowing this praise to make him feel old, Shelton used it to inspire him. He used that fire to create his newest album. His newest, and 13th album, is called ‘For Recreational Use Only.’ Shelton reveals that he is so busy now because he is cramming his schedule with only the things he wants to do. He shared, “I’m so busy because my time is dominated by no-brainer projects and obligations that I really want to do.”
From Inspiration To Partnership
