How Taylor Swift Really Feels About Ex Harry Styles Dating Her Longtime Friend Zoë Kravitz

The year was 2012, One Direction was still together and Taylor Swift had just released her new album, Red. Around this time, rumors started swirling that our showgirl, Swift was dating Harry Styles. Their relationship instantly became a tabloid-frenzy, as two of the biggest singers of the time were together.

Over a decade later, Swift’s and Styles’s names are not often mentioned in the same sentence, that was until Styles was recently linked to Swift’s longtime friend, Zoë Kravitz. In a new report published on October 29, a source told Us Weekly that Swift “doesn’t have an issue” with Styles dating one of her good friends.

“Their relationship was so long ago,” the insider said. “Harry has moved on, and so has Taylor. They’re friendly when they see each other, which isn’t often but does happen occasionally. It’s all in the past now.” Since their 2013 breakup. Swift and Styles were first publicly spotted sharing an amicable moment at the 2021 Grammys together, and were last publicly seen chatting at the same award show in 2023.

Back in March 2013, an insider told Vanity Fair that Styles “chased” Swift for a year and “wore her down.” The relationship reportedly soon became rocky after Styles texted the Fate of Ophelia singer to alert her about a paparazzi photo that had been taken of him kissing a friend goodbye.

The source also told Vanity Fair, “[They were] making out like with their hands all up in each other’s hair.” Following these rumors, Swift reportedly ended their relationship and after some back and forth, they called it quits.

Following their split, Swift released her album, 1989, in which many songs hinted at her relationship with Styles, including “Style.” In 2015, Swift also alluded to how the track “Out of the Woods” captured her feelings while she was in that relationship.

She spoke of the song in 2015 saying, “The number one feeling I felt in the whole relationship was anxiety.” Even though she didn’t name Styles, she shared that “Because it felt very fragile, it felt very tentative. And it always felt like, ‘Okay, what’s the next road block? What’s the next thing that’s gonna deter this? How long do we have before this turns into just an awful mess and we breakup?’”

Around the same time, One Direction released their hit song, Perfect, in which Styles notably sang, “If you’re looking for someone to write your breakup songs about / Then, baby, I’m perfect.”

Since their messy breakup, the stars have both gone on to date several other people. Swift is now engaged to Travis Kelce, while Kravitz and Styles have been together since August 2025. “They are very similar and are free-spirited people, so they hit it off and have a lot of chemistry,” a source told Us Weekly in August of the newly minted couple.
