Former Vice President is making a TV comeback as she appears on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show on CBS to promote her new book, 107 Days, just a day after revealing she won’t run for California Governor.
While the interview with Stephen started of strong, toward the end the talk show host seemed to slowly become annoyed with how vague Kamala was when it came to the details of her book. It’s not uncommon for famous people who have written memoirs to withhold certain aspects of their book, and only tease enough to make people buy it, Kamala was tight-lipped to a fault. At one point during her sit down with Stephen, Kamala explained that there was “a lot personal stuff in the book” before she laughingly said, “poor Dougie,” seemingly beginning to reflect on a memory of her husband Doug Emhoff.
Like any good host would do, Stephen wanted to get the news, asked “what’s going on?,” prompting her to at least drop tidbits on what fans could expect to read about her and Doug in the new memoir.
Kamala then began to share that Doug kind of “dropped the ball” for her birthday.

“My birthday is October, the election’s in November, you see where I’m going?” And Doug-y kind of dropped the ball on my big birthday,” Kamala said while laughing.
Wanting to know more Stephen began prying, asking if Doug got her gift, to which Kamala replied, “you have to read the book.”
Stephen seemed to be irritated by the response as he slammed his hands on the table, taking a breathe before saying, “alright, tell me the page,” as he playfully began flipping through Kamala’s new book. All while keeping a strained grin on his face.

The appearance also comes as the Late Show is set to finish up its final series, after CBS revealed it would be cancelling the talk show after a decade on air citing financial reasons behind the decision.
Harris joined Stephen, in her eighth appearance on the show, to discuss her presidential campaign last year as well as her forthcoming book 107 Days about her campaign for the presidency. Kamala has also talked about her book on social media.
“Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for President of the United States,” Harris said in a video posted on X, formerly Twitter.
“107 days traveling the country, fighting for our future — the shortest presidential campaign in modern history. Since leaving office, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days and with candor and reflection, I’ve written a behind-the-scenes account of that journey. I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what it will take to move forward,” she continued.
