Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban Reportedly Separated After 19 Years Of Marriage

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman have been a powerhouse couple for nearly two decades tying the knot at Patrick’s Estate in the beachside suburb of Manly, Sydney, in 2006. The two first met in 2005, and Kidman admitted that she was attracted to him at their first meeting, and even gave Urban her number. However, Keith Urban took his sweet time getting back to her.

“I remember thinking, I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me. It’s true! He didn’t call me for four months.”

Kidman recalled during a 2017 interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

The couple has been through a lot together, like addressing Urban’s alcohol addiction, which he credits Kidman for helping him get sober, hosting an intervention that led him to rehab, they welcomed two daughters into the world Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, and have created an empire with Urban being a country music star and Kidman having an noteworthy acting career.

They have had a public relationship that has stood the test of time… until now.

As one might say, all good things don’t last forever, and news broke today that the couple is separated. TMZ reported that the two have been living apart since the beginning of summer when Keith moved out. Sources tell the news outlet that Nicole has been taking care of their two children and is “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone.”

The source added that Kidman was trying her hardest to save the marriage, making Urban’s decision to move out one-sided. The source added:

“She didn’t want this. She has been fighting to save the marriage.”

This news is heartbreaking, and I genuinely hope that they find a way back to each other or end their marriage peacefully for the sake of their children.

Many fans of the couple online were shocked to see this news break, given their marriage has lasted so long compared to many other relationships in the spotlight. It’s hard to shut out the chatter from outside, but Urban and Kidman seemed to do that perfectly, never letting the outside world infiltrate their marriage.

In a 2024 interview with People, Kidman made it seem like the two were more in love than ever, sharing:

“I’m so lucky that I have Keith, who’s just my love, my deep, deep love. That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back to.”
