Riley Green Is “Setting the Record Straight” on His Dating Life and Fans’ Obsession To “Ship” Him and Ella Langley
While recording hit songs like “There Was This Girl” and “I Wish Grandpas Never Died”, Riley Green also enjoyed collaborating. In the past, he worked with Luke Combs on “Different ‘Round Here” and even joined forces with Thomas Rhett for “Half of Me.” And just last year, he and Ella Langley watched as their “You Look Like You Love Me” took over the airwaves. But outside of his career in country music, Green quickly learned how much fans cared about his dating life.
With fame comes a price. And for many singers and celebrities, that means allowing full access to their lives. While some fight back, keeping every detail a secret can be almost impossible. Speaking with Country Nights Live with Bev Rainey, Green found the humor in the rumors. “I find out who I’m dating weekly, you know, on social media. That’s a pretty big on there. But I think a lot of stuff I see is so outlandish that it keeps me humble a little bit, then don’t have to worry about. I’m like, okay, don’t say anything on there.”
The One Viral Moment That Shocked Riley Green
For those who wondered if Green had a certain somebody in his life, it seemed his only love, for now, was music. “I’m not, no. I’m rumored to have dated a lot of people… but I kind of understand that. You know, people always long for that like Tim and Faith, Johnny and June, you know, George and Tammy thing.”

Recalling how quickly rumors swirled that he was dating Langley after their hit song, Green was only focused on the success that came from “You Look Like You Love Me.” “You know me and Ella have two giant songs together and I think fans kinda wanna believe that what you’re singing about is real, and follow those lyrics and think there’s a story there. So I can comprehend people that are thinking there’s something going on. But for me, I’m just glad that we’re having success together, and so proud of her.”
Outside of Green setting the record straight about his dating life, he was somewhat shocked how his mustache went viral. Deciding to do away with the signature look, he admitted, “It’s interesting how things like shaving your mustache can become viral now, I never thought that would be a thing.”
