OnlyFans star Sophie Rain is not holding back about Lil Tay’s’ offer of $60 million to fight in a boxing match.
“Lil Tay’s been falling off for years, now she’s making up fake drama just to stay relevant,” Rain, 20, exclusively told Us Weekly in a statement. “It’s giving desperation. If you have to invent beef to get views, maybe it’s time to log off.”
She continued, “I don’t need $60 million to prove anything to someone who’s been irrelevant since middle school. Calling me out won’t bring her clout back. That ship sailed a long time ago.”
Rain claimed that she built her platform as an adult content creator on “on consistency and hard work, not manufactured internet theatrics.” She added, “The only ring I’m interested in is the one that pays me to work, not play pretend.”
Lil Tay challenged Rain to the competition on Tuesday, August 12, in an Instagram video. “Sophie Rain, $60 million is what I have for you to fight me in a boxing match. You’re about that money, right?” Lil Tay said. “Well, this is more money than you’ve ever made.”
Lil Tay called the match an “opportunity” for Rain, whom she claimed was a “fan” of hers. “Don’t pretend to be above it all,” she said, adding that she’s been “training.”
Lil Tay — who had previously gone viral as a rapper in 2018 — shared her decision to launch her OnlyFans account earlier this month and revealed a screenshot of the income she made on her first day — totalling $1,024,298.09. She allegedly made $511,003.79 in subscriptions, $26,736.19 in tips and $486,558.11 from messages.
“$1M in 3 hours 🤩We broke the f*** out of that onlyfans record 🥰🥰🥰,” Lil Tay wrote via Instagram at the time. “Come see content I took of myself at 12:01AM on my 18th BDAY😳ONLY AVAILABLE FOR 24hrs.”
One month earlier, Rain made headlines when she exclusively told Us in a statement that she decided to leave the famed Bop House.
“The Bop House will always be a huge part of my life, but lately, I’ve felt like I was losing my own voice inside of it,” Rain told Us in July. “What started as an empowering space began to feel controlling, with certain members wanting to dictate how I should act, post, and live.”
Rain claimed that she and fellow fellow creator Camilla Araujo had a “major falling out.” She detailed that the pair had “grown in different directions,” which “became impossible to ignore.”
“Leaving wasn’t an easy decision, but I realized I needed to put my mental health and personal freedom first,” Rain said. “I’m grateful for the memories, the success, and the sisterhood we once had, but it’s time for me to move forward.”
Rain concluded her message by thanking her supporters. “This is just the start of a new chapter, on my own terms,” she said. “I wish the girls the best, but I know I’m ready to stand on my own — no more behind-the-scenes drama, just me.”
