When Kai Trump posted her first Instagram post on Feb. 23, 2021, she probably didn’t have her mom, Vanessa Trump, in mind.

The snapshot she shared was with her grandfather, Donald Trump, and Tiger Woods on the golf course. In case you didn’t know, Kai, 18, is a talented golfer who is committed to playing the sport at the University of Miami beginning in the fall of 2026. She appeared to be about eight years old in the photo, which included the caption, “Wishing Tiger luck and a speedy recovery. Also wishing his family all the best in these incredibly trying times. Get well soon! #goat #tigerwoods.” (You can see the photo here.)

Kai was reacting to Woods’ serious single-car accident in Los Angeles after his SUV veered off the road at a high rate of speed. The injuries to his right leg required surgery and an extensive rehabilitation period. Still, the Trump family had no idea what was to come just three years later.

Vanessa, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., began dating the golfer in November 2024, and there have been rumors that her relationship with him is rather serious. The first hint fans got that Woods was all-in with Vanessa was a surprising Instagram post announcing his love for her.

“Love is in the air, and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together,” he wrote in March, along with several cozy snapshots. “At this time, we would appreciate privacy for all those close to our hearts.”

While some people think they are headed down the aisle, a source for the Daily Mail thinks that they are both OK with keeping marriage out of the equation. “Cynically, why should she get married? There’s no point of it, and it would just complicate her alimony from Donald [Trump Jr.],” the insider claimed in July. “And Tiger, of course, paid out a lot in his divorce from Elin [Nordegren], and I don’t think he’s particularly excited to do that again.”

Woods has always relegated his love life to last place after prioritizing his children, daughter Sam, 18, and son Charlie, 16, with whom he shares with Nordegren, and his golf career. “If you know Tiger, you know that he’s not the type to just get married at the drop of a hat,” the source continued. “He has been with women for years and not done that. I think it would take a lot to get him to be a groom again.”

Still, Kai’s photo feels like it somehow predicted the future. Vanessa and Woods have a lot in common with their kids attending the same school together along with their family’s love of golf. It’s a match made in heaven, and maybe one day, Kai will get credit for subtly playing matchmaker years before this unexpected couple became the real deal.
