ACM Awards 2025: See the Complete Winners List!

Less than a month after the landmark 60th annual ACM Awards, the Academy of Country Music cut a significant number of jobs. The ACM’s layoff impacted workers who held high-level positions in communication, marketing, and public relations. According to reports the Academy restructured its roster to prepare for future ventures.

According to a Billboard report, the ACM layoffs took place yesterday (June 5) and cut the Academy’s staff by roughly 25 percent. “Coming off a successful 60th ACM Awards week and renewal with Prime Video through 2028, the Academy implemented a strategic staff realignment in an effort to support its future business and growth initiatives, resulting in the elimination of five staff positions across various departments,” the ACM told the publication in a statement.

Those departments included communications, marketing, events, and community relations. The Academy thanked those whose positions were eliminated for their “dedication and contributions to the work of the Academy.”

ACM Awards Were a High Point Before Staff Cuts

Last month, the Academy of Country Music hosted the 60th annual ACM Awards in Frisco, Texas. As with any awards show, the event celebrated some of the biggest names in the genre today. However, they Academy also took time to honor those who helped put country music where it is today by looking back at 60 years of great music and unforgettable moments.

Their partnership with Amazon Prime Video allowed them to reach millions of fans across the country. Those who didn’t have cable subscriptions or streaming service memberships could tune in and watch the show for free. The same will likely be true of ACM Awards shows for the next three years. The Academy’s current partnership with Prime Video is slated to expire in 2028.
