Megan Moroney Celebrates “Am I Okay?” Going #1 With Epic Belly Flop: “Impressive Form 10/10”

That’s one way to celebrate.

Megan Moroney is celebrating her second number-one single at country radio in a big way. Earlier this summer, Megan Moroney’s single “Am I Okay?” topped the country radio charts.

While Moroney has known for roughly two months that the song reached its peak on the radio charts, she is finally getting around to celebrating this success with her fans. Recently, Megan Moroney celebrated at her Nashville pop-up bar, The Emo Cowgirl, located at the L27 Rooftop Lounge at the Westin Hotel in Nashville. Given the bar is in the final stretch of service before it closes at the end of August, it was only right to host a massive number one party at the Megan Moroney-themed venue.

Before the celebration really got started, Moroney took a second to thank her team and fans who supported her through this entire Am I Okay? era.

“This has been crazy. I mean, ‘Am I Okay?’ this song created a whole era for me. We invented the color blue with this song. To my songwriters, I don’t know, writing with y’all is just so effortless. I love both of y’all so much, and we have songs in our phone that no one else here does that I think are… I don’t want to say it’s better than this song, but I just mean I’m so happy where this write led to the other writes. I just feel like we are writing soulmates. I love y’all so much.”

Moroney goes on to thank her producer, Kristian Bush, along with other members of her team, including record representatives, tour management, and more.

“I just love doing this. I can feel that it gets bigger because I can’t just go places anymore without someone knowing who I am. But it feels so normal, and like it always did in the beginning. And I think it’s because I have so many people around me from the producer, the songwriters, my team, I know in every corner I look, there are genuine people who want what’s best for me. They trust me and my instincts, and that’s all you can ask for as a songwriter.”

While Moroney planned to celebrate after his speech by opening a giant bottle of wine (which one would assume is a cabernet sauvignon because that is her favorite), and sharing it with those in the room, Moroney had another idea of how to mark this single’s success.

By belly flopping in the pool.

Unconventional, sure. But, sometimes you have to unbutton yourself a little bit and have some fun, and there is no better place or time to do that than celebrating a number one single at a bar with your name on it. After sharing the kind words, and I’m sure after a few glasses of wine, Moroney and friends went to the pool where she launched herself into the air like Flat Stanley, landing what might be the world’s most epic belly flop.

As she hits the water, you can’t help but flinch as a viewer, knowing her skin is stinging.
