Max Verstappen nominated for global sport award alongside multiple world record holder and Olympic champion
It’s awards season and this time the nominations for the Laureus World Sports Awards have been released.

The Laureus World Sports Awards celebrate some of the biggest achievements in world sport, with several athletes from different disciplines of sport celebrated.
Last year the Olympics took place in Paris, which saw several nominees including swimming ace Leon Marchand, athletics champions Mondo Duplantis and Simone Biles, and the Spain men’s football team for their win at the Euros.
There were also a couple of recognitions for F1 drivers and teams, with Max Verstappen leading the nominations after his 2024 F1 season.

Max Verstappen nominated for Laureus Sportsman of the Year
Verstappen has been nominated for the Laureus Sportsman of the Year award, joining Marchand and Duplantis, Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, and cycling ace Tadej Pogacar.
The Dutchman has been nominated after winning his fourth world championship in a row, having had a season-long battle with McLaren’s Lando Norris.
He is also joined by McLaren who have been nominated as team of the year, following their F1 Constructors’ Championship success in 2024.
