During their dating, billionaire Jeff Bezos called MC Lauren Sánchez “a girl full of life” who made him feel young again because of love.

After six years of dating, the love story of billionaire Jeff Bezos, 61, and former broadcaster Lauren Sánchez, 56, was marked by a series of lavish wedding parties in Venice, Italy, from June 26 to 28. The public focused their attention on Sánchez – a woman who has been married once, is a single mother of three children, and is now the person who makes the world’s fourth richest billionaire “crazy”.

Many news sites have commented that billionaire Jeff Bezos has been “reborn” after falling in love with Lauren Sánchez. Previously, he did not pay attention to his appearance and only appeared at economic forums or product launches. In recent years, Bezos has been praised for looking younger thanks to his upgraded dressing style and improved body shape.

Before marrying Jeff Bezos, Lauren Sánchez had a successful career. She was prominent in the media industry, ran a film production company about the sky, worked as a pilot and achieved many successes. However, her fame was only in the United States. The Times commented that it was her relationship with Bezos that brought Lauren’s name beyond Los Angeles – where she used to live and work.

She was born in 1969 in New Mexico, the third generation of Mexican immigrants. Lauren’s father was a pilot, her mother a former assistant deputy mayor of Los Angeles. When Lauren was seven years old, her parents divorced. From then on, “little Wendy” lived with her mother but was mainly cared for by her grandmother – a house cleaner and restaurant manager. In People in 2024, Lauren said that her grandmother taught her the meaning of cleaning, believing that this job helps other people’s lives. “That’s how my grandmother sees life. That inspires me,” Lauren said.

Lauren Sánchez has big ambitions and always strives to achieve her goals. On the occasion of the release of her first children’s book in 2024, the billionaire’s wife revealed that she had dyslexia in high school and did not believe in her own abilities. In college, a professor recognized Lauren’s problem after reading an article she wrote. After that, she constantly tried to improve her condition and received a scholarship to study communications at the University of Southern California. However, she dropped out before graduating. At the age of 25, she got her first job at KVTK – a local channel in Phoenix – as a reporter.

Lauren Sánchez rose to fame as the host of Good Day LA from 2003 to 2009, and as a special correspondent for Extra about the entertainment industry. In 2003, she appeared on the cover of men’s magazine Open Your Eyes , calling her “America’s Hottest News Anchor.” She also appeared in films such as Fight Club (1999), The Day After Tomorrow (2004), and Fantastic Four (2005), mostly as a newscaster.

Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey, former CEO of Extra , says Lauren Sánchez often interviews big-name men because she knows how to lead a conversation, citing the time she interviewed former President Bill Clinton in 2010.

Lauren Sánchez is passionate about flying, inspired by her father to fly as a child. In 2016, Lauren got her helicopter pilot’s license and founded Black Ops Aviation, a film studio specializing in aerial shots. She is the first woman to head a studio of its kind. The former newscaster was a consultant on Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk (2017) and Miss Bala (2019).

Lauren told the Hollywood Reporter in 2017 about her decision to start the company: “I had a job and a career before, but then I heard my calling. I love the entertainment industry and movies, so I combined the two.” In early 2024, she was honored at the Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards for her contributions to the industry.

Speaking to the WSJ in 2023, Lauren said that her love of flying helped her bond with the billionaire, often flying helicopters with him in her free time. In April, Lauren Sánchez made a flight to the edge of space with an all-female crew, as part of a project by Blue Origin, the aerospace company founded by her husband.

In May 2019, Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos went public with their relationship after facing a lot of noise because the billionaire had a 25-year marriage to writer MacKenzie Scott. When they got together, the couple spent a lot of time traveling and actively doing charity work. In 2020, the billionaire founded the Bezos Earth Fund with the goal of donating $10 billion to environmental protection initiatives by 2030. Lauren Sánchez is currently the fund’s executive vice president.

In 2023, the couple got engaged on the Koru yacht off the Amalfi Coast, Italy. According to L’Officiel USA, Bezos proposed to his lover with a 20-carat diamond ring worth $2.5 million. The cost of the wedding has not been announced, but Luca Zaia – governor of the Veneto region, which includes Venice – said the amount could be more than $55 million, according to Reuters .
