Is Eros actually gone for good? Kevin Feige gives his thoughts on Harry Styles potentially making his return to the MCU.

One of the oddest casting decisions in the entire MCU was the decision to bring pop singer Harry Styles into the fold as the womanizing Eternal known as Eros. It’s a choice that left many fans scratching their heads. And, given how badly Eternals flopped, fans have remained absolutely perplexed as nothing has been done with the characters since 2021.

This has left many to wonder if there were ever any plans to fit Eros into the wider story of the MCU. The franchise is no stranger to throwing post-credits scenes in with the hope of addressing them in the sequel. It’s possible that Harry Styles was added into the project as a stunt cast, with there being no intention of him ever making a return as the character.

Will Harry Styles Return As Eros?

After years of nothing, Eternals fans are finally getting some news about the future of the characters…kind of. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently sat down with Games Radar to discuss the current state of the franchise. When asked if there were any plans for characters like Harry Styles’ Eros or Brett Goldstein’s Hercules to return, the executive played it hair-pullingly vague.

“There are plans for some and there are opportunities for all. It’s about finding what the right moment is. Some, maybe we’ll never see again. Some, maybe we’ll see soon….Who knows? What I love about it is as much about the actors as it is about the characters.”

“It’s as much about our enthusiasm and excitement to work with those actors, which is how almost all those came about – but we will not alter a storyline just to include them simply because they have been seen in the past.

Of course, Kevin Feige worded this the way he did to avoid giving an answer one way or another. However, given the performance of Eternals combined with how popular Harry Styles was as a casting choice for Eros, it’s not likely the singer will be making his return to the MCU anytime soon. At the very least, not one that’ll net him a starring role.
