Inside Nicole Kidman’s new ‘dynamic’ with daughters as she repairs ‘broken family’ amid Keith Urban split

Nicole Kidman is facing a new ‘dynamic’ with her two daughters amid her shock split from Keith Urban following 19 years of marriage.

The 58-year-old actress – who has turned to a ‘healthy’ coping mechanism in the wake of the separation – shares Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, with the country singer.

It was revealed late last month in September that Kidman and Urban have gone their separate ways. 

While the Oscar winner is in a ‘good headspace’ as she moves on, the estranged couple have also been facing challenges.

‘The hardest part is navigating the dynamic with their daughters,’ a source told Us Weekly in an article published on Friday.

‘The last thing Nicole wanted was a broken family,’ the insider added before further expressing that Kidman ‘raised her daughters to be strong and is leading by example for them.’

The Babygirl actress has started to ‘focus on creating new traditions with her daughters and keeping their home life as steady and loving as possible.’

Kidman herself is in a ‘good headspace and has been very positive’ amid the divorce while also keeping busy.

The insider told the outlet that the star ‘isn’t necessarily trying to find her new normal throughout all of this, because they had been quietly separated for a while now.’

It was also revealed that, ‘This next chapter feels more like a transition than a shock.’

Kidman showed off the close bond that she has with her teenage daughters as they recently attended the Chanel Spring/Summer 2026 runway show during Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.

The trio paused for photos as they arrived to the star-studded event – making it their first appearance together following the news of Kidman and Urban’s separation.

Sunday Rose also jumped to her main Instagram page as she recently shared moments from Paris Fashion Week, and her famous mother made a sweet cameo in one of the snaps. 

The Moulin Rouge actress could be seen smiling while flashing a peace sign with her fingers in a lighthearted image.

According to divorce documents previously obtained by the Daily Mail, Kidman will become the primary residential parent of their two teenage daughters.

The estranged couple have agreed to an unusual parenting plan in which Kidman gets 306 days while Urban receives just 59 with their kids.

Elsewhere, the document specifies that Kidman and Urban will make major decisions regarding their daughters together, including educational and extracurricular activities.

Neither party will receive monthly child support as Urban has ‘already prepaid all child support obligations.’

Despite the divorce, both stars will still ‘provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the children.’

The notarized parenting plan was signed by the Oscar winner on September 6, while her estranged husband signed on August 29, a few days earlier.

The former couple have waived both child and spousal support, and agreed to split court costs evenly.

Kidman also shares adopted children Isabella, 32, and Connor, 30, with ex Tom Cruise.

Sources also told the Daily Mail that Urban has reportedly moved on with an unnamed female musician.

Speculation had arisen that he could possibly be linked to 25-year-old country star Maggie Baugh as well as singer Kelsea Ballerini, 32.

Country star Alexandra Kay has since weighed in on the rumors surrounding Baugh and told Taste of Country, ‘I’m like, “She’s a good friend of mine and I know that’s absolutely not true.”

‘I’ve met her boyfriend, and she’s very happy, and she has nothing to do with that whole relationship [with Urban].’

Kay added, ‘I feel sad for everybody involved that people are doing that and picking apart their personal life. I pray for peace for them.’
