As the PGA Tour and the Public Investment Fund (PIF) continue to try and find a way to wrap up the merger deal, a huge report came out on Tuesday. It claimed that Bryson DeChambeau was expected to rejoin the PGA Tour in 2026 after LIV Golf declined his $280 million contract extension.
It didn’t take much time before a golf insider debunked this report. The 2-time major champion was one of the top names who left the PGA Tour to play for LIV Golf. Since then, he has enjoyed both individual and team success on the Saudi-backed circuit.
DeChambeau is also one of them whose contract is up for renewal. In the midst of this, a report on Tuesday claimed that the American golfer will be returning to the PGA Tour after LIV Golf rejected his contract extension.
BREAKING: Bryson DeChambeau has NOT agreed to an extension with LIV Golf and is expected to rejoin the PGA Tour after this season Bryson was looking for a $280M extension, which PIF rejected.

However, this report is not true. As per Golf insider Tom Hobbs, DeChambeau’s contract with LIV Golf runs through the 2026 season. This means that the earliest he could return to the tour is 2027 and not 2026 as claimed in the report.
The report about Bryson DeChambeau rejoining the PGA Tour next season is completely false. His contract with LIV Golf runs through the end of the 2026 season and it’s highly unlikely he’ll be playing any PGA Tour events until 2027, at the earliest.

DeChambeau could find himself playing regularly on the PGA Tour next year if the merger goes through and successfully reunifies the game. He is one name that several PGA Tour stars want to see return to them and play regularly. For now, he only plays on the PGA Tour during the 4 major championships.
LIV Golf star drops unique 5-word response to rumors of Bryson DeChambeau’s LIV Golf exit
Bryson DeChambeau became the topic of discussion on Tuesday after a report suggested that he was rejoining the PGA Tour in 2026. While that report has been debunked by a golf insider, it did bring out top reactions on social media. One of them came from a LIV Golfer player who proceeded a drop a unique 5-word reaction towards it.

The golfer talked about here is Lee Westwood. The English golfer who serves as one of the co-captains of Majesticks GC, seemed surprised by this report. He then dropped a unique response to this report on X.
Codswallop is very applicable here.

Codswallop is basically a British informal slang that refers to “nonsense” or “rubbish.” Westwood probably uses this word to squash out the reports and reaffirm that DeChambeau would be staying with them for the 2026 season.
For now, the two golfers will turn their attention to the LIV Golf Singapore event which is scheduled to take place next week. In the two events so far, Westwood has once again struggled and has finished T25 and T37. Meanwhile, DeChambeau is currently 14th in the individual standings with a T6 and T18 finish at LIV Golf Riyadh and LIV Golf Adelaide respectively.
