Elon Musk beats his chest and talks about 2 health habits, “accepting” all types of tests: “I challenge New York Times staff to do the same”
To be able to work at extremely high efficiency, billionaire Elon Musk has to discipline himself to maintain scientific habits.
Drug Test Confidence
On June 17, Elon Musk posted on social network X his test results, which showed that he tested negative for drugs such as ketamine, cocaine and many others. Musk added a short description “lol” (That’s ridiculous).
He then continued to post articles criticizing two American newspapers, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, after the two sites reported that he used drugs during the 2024 US presidential campaign.
Elon Musk publicly reveals his test results on X
“I dare the New York Times and Wall Street Journal staff to take a drug test and publish the results. They won’t because the hypocrites are definitely guilty,” Musk added.
The American billionaire also posted a photo of the Wall Street Journal’s acronym WSJ as “We Suck at Journalism”. “Their new name fits very well,” Musk commented.
Mr Musk has confirmed that he has used “prescription ketamine”, but said this was long publicised and denied allegations of drug use during Mr Trump’s campaign. Ketamine is an anesthetic used for pain relief, anesthesia and stress reduction, but is also classified as a synthetic drug because of its sedative and hallucinogenic effects.
The New York Times previously reported that Musk had consumed large amounts of ketamine and other stimulants far beyond the normal prescription dosage. Although he had previously admitted to using ketamine every two weeks to treat depression, the New York Times said his current condition had developed into a serious habit, with the frequency of use “frequently, sometimes daily,” even combined with ecstasy and hallucinogenic mushrooms.
The newspaper’s source said that Mr. Musk carried a daily pillbox containing about 20 pills, including Adderall – a stimulant used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
In 2018, the New York Times reported that some Tesla board members were concerned about Musk’s use of Ambien, a sleeping pill. More recently, the Wall Street Journal revealed that senior executives at SpaceX and Tesla had also expressed concerns about Musk’s possible use of LSD and cocaine.
Billionaire Elon Musk spends 6 hours sleeping every night
When asked about the allegations at a press conference with President Trump at the White House, Mr. Musk refused to answer directly and criticized the New York Times as “a newspaper that won a Pulitzer Prize for its false reporting on Russiagate.”
He also stressed that “no traces of drugs or alcohol were found” in three years of testing results at SpaceX.
Elon Musk’s Scientific Habits
Billionaire Elon Musk, who owns a fortune of more than 320 billion USD – the boss of SpaceX, social network X and electric car company Tesla – is known as a highly productive person thanks to his morning routine that helps him start his day energetically.
Sleep 6 hours a night
After a six-hour sleep, the world’s richest billionaire usually wakes up at 7 a.m. and spends 30 minutes answering important emails.
“If I don’t get enough sleep, I get grumpy and my mental acuity suffers,” billionaire Elon Musk once shared.
He never forgets to take a shower in the morning. According to the billionaire, this habit helps to spark great ideas.
Talking about arranging work schedules, billionaire Elon Musk emphasized: “Focus on signals instead of paying attention to surrounding distractions. Don’t waste time on things that don’t really improve the problem.”
According to the world’s richest man, “signaling” is the way to develop and improve products. This is also what he pays the most attention to.
Elon Musk avoids eating and drinking alcohol 2-3 hours before bed
“Many people think that I spend most of my time on social media or business. In fact, almost 80% of my time is spent with the engineering and design team developing new products,” billionaire Elon Musk emphasized.
Billionaire Elon Musk divides his day into 5-minute intervals corresponding to each task that needs to be solved, helping to improve concentration and productivity at work.
Running three world-class businesses at once, Elon Musk clearly divides the work of a week for each company.
Specifically, Monday and Friday are the billionaire’s time for SpaceX in Los Angeles, the remaining days are for Tesla or Twitter in San Francisco. This division helps him minimize travel and maximize work efficiency.
Do not eat or drink alcohol 2-3 hours before bedtime
Besides work, he still spends time going to the movies, meeting friends, playing games with his children, and enjoys attending exciting parties.
Billionaire Elon Musk once admitted that he “doesn’t exercise” but he spends time running on the treadmill, practicing Karate and Jiu-Jitsu.
In a podcast, billionaire Elon Musk once said: “Eating before bed is a bad idea and negatively affects your sleep.”
The habit of eating before bed can cause heartburn because the food is difficult to digest. Therefore, he avoids drinking alcohol and eating at least 2-3 hours before going to bed.
Before going to bed is the time for the world’s richest billionaire to plan for the next day. For many years, Elon Musk has maintained reading before going to bed to relax his mind and find more inspiration for work.
