“Can’t Win ‘Em All”: Ella Langley Issues “Public Apology” Following Onstage “Oopsie”

Ella Langley Talks The “Dark Side” Of Social Media And How “You Look Like You Love Me” Changed Her Life - Music Mayhem

Ella Langley is having a moment on the heels of “You Look Like You Love Me,” last year’s viral duet with Riley Green. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter from Hope Hull, Alabama, dominated this year’s ACM Awards, taking home five trophies and sharing a stage with Miranda Lambert. Still, Langley has managed to remain humble throughout it all—so humble, in fact, that she still thinks of herself as an opening act.

Currently, Langley is providing direct support on Green’s Damn Country Music Tour. The “Weren’t For the Wind” singer took the stage third during a May 31 stop at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Wanting to shout out the show’s previous artist, Langley instructed the crowd to “give it up” for Hudson Westbrook.

One problem, however: Westbrook, a rising singer-songwriter from Fort Worth, Texas, isn’t on tour with Green and Langley. It was Vincent Mason, who broke out with his 2024 hit “Hell is a Dancefloor.”

“I made an oopsie, and the problem is, is the oopsie was so strange, because I have no idea why,” Langley lamented in a video posted to TikTok.

She added, “Because I knew it was Vincent Mason, but for some reason I said Hudson Westbrook, even though I knew it was Vincent Mason. Anyway, so… public apology. Sorry, Vincent! Hudson, shout out to you, and then Vincent, shout out to you.”

Ella Langley Apologizes to Opener in Person

Additionally, the video shows Mason wrapping Ella Langley into a hug as she shows up for an in-person apology.

“I don’t even know what to say,” she admitted. “I’m not used to having openers perform for me at all. I’m used to being the first one. Sorry.”

Both artists seemed to take Langley’s misstep in stride, with the “A Little Too Good” singer commenting, “Literally who is Vincent Mason?”

“No idea,” replied the hungover star.

Westbrook also weighed in. “I’ll take the shout out any day,” wrote the “House Again” crooner.

After releasing his first mainstream single “Take It Slow,” in 2024, Westbrook is set to drop his debut album, Texas Forever, in July.

Meanwhile, Mason wrapped up his own Hell is a Dancefloor Tour in April.
