Megan Moroney’s Breakup Advice: “Block Them”

Heartbreak seems like a universal feeling and Megan Moroney has the cure. The country singer shared advice on how to get over an ex: block them.

On May 26, Moroney spoke with Country Music Television (CMT) on the red carpet before the 2025 American Music Awards and gave her honest advice on how to get over an ex.

Megan Moroney’s Advice

When asked if she had any method to get over an ex Moroney gave the details.

“I think that if your gut knows they’re not right for you,” she told CMT, “you probably just need to walk away. And it’s tough, but–it’s hard to leave, but it’s a lot harder to stay in a relationship that isn’t good for you. I always tell my friends too, I’m like, ‘Block them. Literally block them.’”

She went on to share she’s a blocker. However, she explained she also has to block them in order for her not to reach out to them either.

“I think if you know that it’s just gonna keep going in circles, you just gotta block them and find someone hotter.”

Megan Moroney is Only Getting Started

The “Am I Okay?” singer is currently keeping herself busy. From dropping a collaboration alongside country star Kenny Chesney to performing in her very own tour, Moroney’s career continues to grow.

On May 9, Moroney released “You Had To Be There” featuring Chesney. The official music video was also released on the same day.

Moroney went on to share how special the track is to her as it was a Christmas present she made for Chesney. The two artists shared the stage last summer as Moroney joined him on the road.

“As y’all know,” she wrote in the caption of the post, “I write about things that are important to me & the sun goes down tour + becoming friends with @kennychesney last summer was undoubtedly a highlight of my career & my life. I wrote out the lyrics & gifted this song to him for Christmas & thankfully he loved it… so excited for y’all to hear it on Friday 🤠🌴🏟️”

The country singers performed the song live for the first time at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Chesney brought out the emo cowgirl for a surprise performance as he is currently on  his residency at the Sphere  which kicked off on May 22 and is set to come to an end on June 21.
