Ex-employee slams Tiger Woods for poor treatment after helping him secure $60 million before he went pro

According to Hughes Norman, Woods “does this with a lot of people”

After spending years shaping a teenage Tiger Woods into a global golf icon-and securing him a five-year, $40 million endorsement deal with Nike and a $20 million deal with Titleist before he had even struck a single professional shot – Hughes Norton revealed, 25 years later, that he was treated poorly by Woods himself.

Norton isn’t just anyone in the golf world. He represented two of the game’s biggest stars: Tiger Woods and Greg Norman. Both eventually fired him – but only one did it with dignity.

“At least Norman was loyal”

Norton revealed on the SubPar show how Woods fired him and didn’t even acknowledge the work he had done for the golf icon at the start of his career.

“And for him, 24 months in, to fire me over the phone is just still inexplicable,” Norton recalled. “And I’ve never spoken to him since that moment. He’s never given me any response. And sadly, he does this with a lot of people in his life,” the super-agent said.

Norton also remembered how he was let go by Norman and admitted: “At least he was loyal for that whole period of time and appreciated the work we had done.”

The super-agent hasn’t been the only one to speak negatively about his working relationship with Tiger. Hank Haney, one of Woods’ former swing coaches, described his time with the golf legend as “always… dysfunctional.”
