‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Casts Country Music Star Kane Brown for Series Premiere Appearance

“9-1-1: Nashville” is bringing on some serious country talent for the premiere of the Music City-set series with an appearance from singer Kane Brown, Variety has learned exclusively.
Per ABC, Brown “proves heroic in a major storyline” in the first episode of the new “9-1-1” spinoff, debuting Thursday, Oct 9. at 9 p.m. on ABC and available to stream the next day on Hulu.
Brown will film a scene for the episode, which is set during a concert performance on Thursday in Nashville.
Following in the foot steps of the ongoing Los Angeles-based “9-1-1” and its now-ended Texas spinoff “9-1-1: Lone Star,” “9-1-1: Nashville” further expands Ryan Murphy’s first-responder TV drama universe as “a high-octane procedural about our heroic first responders, as well as their family saga of power and glamour set in one of America’s most diverse and dynamic cities.”
“9-1-1: Nashville” stars Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, LeAnn Rimes, Hailey Kilgore, Michael Provost, Juani Feliz and Hunter McVey.
The series is produced by 20th Television (which has been the studio behind “9-1-1” franchise since before it made its move from Fox to ABC) in association with Ryan Murphy Television. Executive producers include writers Murphy, Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani (who will serve as showrunner), as well as O’Donnell, Brad Buecker, Brad Falchuk and “9-1-1” star Angela Bassett.
The “9-1-1: Nashville” guest spot is not Brown’s first time appearing on a TV series — or even a broadcast emergency procedural. Brown made his acting debut on CBS’s “Fire Country” in 2023. Also on screen, Brown has acted as the host of the CMT Awards three times.
Brown first broke onto the music scene in 2016 with his self-titled debut album, which helped him to become the first artist ever to lead all five of Billboard’s main country charts simultaneously.
He has received multiple ACM, Billboard, AMA, CMT and People’s Choice Award nominations, including most recently, his recognition by the People’s Choice Country Awards with a Country Champion Award win. His fourth studio album, “The High Road,” is out now and includes hit “Miles On It” with Marshmello, which had a milestone 50-week run at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
