Miley Cyrus Is Reportedly Engaged to Boyfriend Maxx Morando

After literally hours of speculation, Miley Cyrus has confirmed that she is engaged to her boyfriend Maxx Morando.

After literally hours of speculation, Miley Cyrus is reportedly engaged to her boyfriend Maxx Morando.

A source confirmed the news to PEOPLE earlier today. This follows fan speculation regarding the ring Cyrus wore on her ring finger last night at the world premiere of Avatar: Fire And Ash. 

It was Morando’s father who let the news slip when he posted pictures of the “Flowers” singer wearing the ring at her 33rd birthday. In the caption, he not only congratulated Cyrus and his 27-year-old son but also used emojis of a champagne bottle and a ring. You can view the screenshot below.

Cyrus, who has the honor of calling Dolly Parton her godmother, was engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth (brother of Chris) twice. The first time was around 2012, but the couple separated in 2013.

They reunited in 2018 and married two years later. The couple divorced in 2020. It’s been rumored that the song “Flowers” is about Cyrus’ relationship with Hemsworth, but she denies this.

“I wrote it in a really different way. The chorus was originally: ‘I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand, but I can’t love me better than you can.’ It used to be more, like, 1950s,” she said at the time. “The saddest song. Like: ‘Sure, I can be my own lover, but you’re so much better.’ The song is a little ‘fake it till you make it,’ which I’m a big fan of.”

How Did Cyrus and Morando Meet?

Cyrus, who is the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, and Morando, a producer and drummer in the band Liily, reportedly met on a blind date in 2021. Their romance began to blossom soon after. They were first spotted together backstage during Cyrus’ special, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, in Miami.

The romance was verified when the two were caught kissing in West Hollywood in April 2022. Last year, it was reported that the couple was living together.

The couple has kept their relationship mostly under wraps. Cyrus briefly talked about her relationship with Morando with Harper’s Bazaar last year.

“I worked with my dad forever,” she said. “That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much.”
