Country Music Hall of Fame Hits 20 Million Visitors, Celebrated by Trisha Yearwood.

The Country Music Hall of Fame reached 20 million visitors, and a family from California got a surprise when their visit marked the milestone.

The Sagi family from Santa Clara, California, arrived in Nashville thinking their trip would be like most tourists.

“I am in choir, she’s in band, and we listen to a lot of music. And we thought Nashville is the Music City, we have to come,” a family member said.

Members of the Sagi family were the 20 millionth visitors to the museum since it moved into its current location on Demonbreun Street.

Country music star Trisha Yearwood stopped by to celebrate the occasion.

“When people come to Nashville, this is where they want to come,” Yearwood said.

Yearwood used to work at the museum as a tour guide.

“I know what the experience feels like for a fan, because I am one. And now to be, you know, I have been on the board here, to have my instrument on display, it’s just so full circle,” Yearwood said.

Yearwood said a lot has changed since she gave tours, but the excitement around the tourist hotspot has stayed the same.

“When you think of a museum, a lot of time people think, ‘Oh, it’s just a bunch of stuff and it’s quiet.’ This is a very energetic facility. So this is a place that once people come once, they want to come back,” Yearwood said.

The Country Music Hall of Fame is one of the country’s most visited history museums. Last year, the museum welcomed over 1.4 million people.
