PGA Tour leaders are ready to take concrete steps to help this story get back on its feet and to move forward into the future.
Although he is mentioned less and less in the media, the public is still wondering what is happening with Tiger Woods and when we can expect his return.
Brian Rollap, the new PGA Tour CEO, announced the creation of a new Future Competition committee last week, noting that Tiger Woods will be at the head of this committee.
This committee should be very important to the PGA Tour as it will be the link between the fans and the tour, but also the link between the regular season and the playoffs.
The PGA Tour has also proposed a voluntary retirement program. The PGA Tour offers employees the option to leave the company, but it will come with certain benefits such as severance pay and French bonuses.
This package will concern 5-10% of the exemptions, as the goal of the PGA Tour is to reduce the number of employees and direct its resources to some other things.
However, their goal is that these things do not seem so chaotic, but that it works as if they are voluntary, and not as a classic dismissal.
Tiger Woods supports Rolapp and such innovations
Tiger Woods is a person who stood by the new CEO, believing that he is doing the right thing and obviously supporting him.
Such pension programs are present in other sports, and it is clear that Rolapp is a person who really knows what he is doing.
He is aware that Tiger Woods will be an important figure for him on this path and a man who can really help the PGA Tour move forward more prospectively into the future.
Rolapp is also a man who knows the business world well, aware of what he must do if he wants the PGA Tour to solidify its place on the golf scene and make further progress in the coming weeks and months.
The leaders of this tour have many more innovations planned for the future, wanting the future of golf to belong to them, not to LIV Golf or possibly some other tour that will emerge. We’ll see how successful they will be.
