Britney Spears could be in a lot of trouble if this is true.

As reported by TMZ, Britney Spears allegedly had “pills” in her possession after her arrest for DUI on March 4. This shocking discovery could lead to jail time.

Sources claim the pills were Adderall, sourced from Mexico. If this is true, there is a chance that the ADHD medicine may have been cut with a narcotic. There’s also the chance that these aren’t just medicine but instead dangerous and illegal drugs. If this is the case, then Britney would have to deal with more than just a DUI charge. She’d be facing drug possession charges, which come with prison time to boot.

Britney’s team is apparently trying to figure out the best options for her. This shocking find, along with the DUI charge itself, comes just weeks after Britney Spears fired her sobriety coaches and security guards, according to TMZ. Britney fired them after she came back from a trip to Mexico.

Britney also deleted her Instagram last week, saying that her inappropriate dancing videos were “embarrassing”, but that they “saved” her life.

Why Was Britney Spears Charged With a DUI?

As reported by People, the Ventura, California Sheriff’s Office placed Britney Spears under arrest on suspicion of a DUI on March 4. They released her early on March 5. Her alleged blood alcohol content was a .06, according to TMZ. This is below the California legal threshold. But the Sheriff’s Office can still file charges if erratic driving is witnessed.

In a press release, Public Information Officer Ryan Ayers Thursday said that “a black BMW 430i was reported to the CHP’s Ventura Communications Center for driving erratically at a high rate of speed”, with her being promptly pulled over.

The statement continued, “The solo occupant, Ms. Spears… submitted to a series of field sobriety tests.” The official charge Britney received was for “driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol”.

If the charge Thursday stated was true, then perhaps the pills she had in her car were laced with narcotics. In any case, we hope Britney is safe and sound.
