Throughout his career, Post Malone has enjoyed immense commercial success across a variety of genres.

The singer and songwriter has tried his hand at hip-hop, pop-rock, and even country music, and he’s scored both hits and top-performing albums across each and every style. 2023 BottleRock Napa Valley

His ability to connect with audiences that typically prefer one style or another is on display on the Billboard charts, as Malone lives on rankings that look at the most successful hip-hop albums as well as the most popular country collections. While Malone is in his country era at the moment – he has stated that he’s already hard at work on his second country project (or is that projects), which will follow up F-1 Trillion – it’s on the Top Rap Albums roster where the Grammy nominee leads the charge once more with a somewhat surprising surge.

The Diamond Collection Returns to No. 1

Malone rules the Top Rap Albums chart, Billboard’s weekly rundown of the most consumed full-length and short collections specific to the rap genre. He leads the charge with The Diamond Collection, a compilation of his songs that have all been certified diamond. Many of his most successful tunes were released earlier in his career, when he was focused on hip-hop and rap music, and thus The Diamond Collection is classified as a rap release and regularly appears on the Top Rap Albums roster.

The Diamond Collection is One of Post Malone’s Four No. 1s

The Diamond Collection is one of four releases by Malone to appear on the Top Rap Albums chart, and all four of those sets have spent time at No. 1. The Diamond Collection is now up to three frames ruling the tally, the least among his winners. Here’s a quick look at how long all four of Malone’s champions on the Top Rap Albums chart have spent at No. 1:

The Diamond Collection Needed a Year to Reach No. 1

While The Diamond Collection seemed like a surefire winner, since it contains so many massively popular songs, the compilation was not an immediate ruler. The Diamond Collection debuted on the Top Rap Albums chart in August 2023, and the full-length needed a year before it finally reached the top space, just before August turned to September in 2024.

Last week, the Top Rap Albums ranking was commanded by What Happened to the Streets?, the quickly-shared project by hip-hop powerhouse 21 Savage. The rapper blocked The Diamond Collection, which held at No. 2. This frame, What Happened to the Streets? dips to eighth place after two turns in the driver’s seat.

The Diamond Collection Nears No. 1 on a Second Chart

Over on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, The Diamond Collection also returns to its all-time high, though it has yet to make it all the way to the loftiest spot. The compilation pushes from No. 7 to No. 2, finding its way back to the space it first reached at the end of August 2024. Only SOS by SZA keeps the multi-genre superstar from scoring a new No. 1, and had he been able to surge just one more space, Malone would have landed a very special leader.

On the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums ranking, Malone has placed five titles, and The Diamond Collection is the only one to fail to lead the charge even once. Hollywood’s BleedingBeerbongs & BentleysStoney, and Twelve Carat Toothache all managed several weeks atop the roster.

In addition to two genre-specific lists, The Diamond Collection also grows dramatically on both the Top Streaming Albums chart and the Billboard 200, as it approaches the top 10 on both tallies, but misses out on that important region by just a few spots. The Diamond Collection settles at No. 12 on the streaming-only roster and No. 14 on the list of the most consumed albums and EPs in America.

F-1 Trillion Improves Alongside The Diamond Collection

As The Diamond Collection grows, so too does F-1 Trillion. Malone almost claims a top 10 success on both hip-hop lists and the Top Country Albums chart, as F-1 Trillion vaults from No. 24 to No. 11. The former ruler also improves its standing on the Billboard 200 by 99 spaces, shooting from No. 199 to No. 100, where it settles right in the middle of the competitive tally.
