In an interview published with Variety publoshed on Wednesday, the “Babygirl” actress said she is doing “all right” following the end of their 19-year marriage.

“I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good,” Kidman told the outlet in her first public comments about their split. “What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect.”

She continued: “I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”

The former couple share daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.

Kidman, 58, petitioned in September to end her marriage to the 57-year-old Grammy-winning country singer in a Nashville court. The documents stated the couple has undergone “marital difficulties and irreconcilable differences.”

According to TMZ, Kidman and Urban had separated and hadn’t been living together “since the beginning of summer.”

People and E! News confirmed their breakup, noting that the split appears to be one-sided.

“Nicole did not want to part ways with Keith and has been trying to save the marriage,” insiders told E! News.

Their divorce was finalized three months later with a custody arrangement that gave Kidman 306 days per year with their daughters while Urban got every other weekend with the girls, according to documents obtained by E! News at the time.

Following news of their split, allegations that Urban had been unfaithful to Kidman ran rampant. Fans fixated on a lyric change Urban had made in his 2017 song “The Fighter,” which was famously inspired by his relationship with Kidman.

Footage in September showed Urban making an edit to the chorus. The original lyric is “When they’re tryna get to you baby, I’ll be the fighter.” But Urban seems to switch out the “baby, I’ll be the fighter” part for “Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player.

The “Maggie” Urban was referring to was Maggie Baugh, a 25-year-old utility player who toured with Urban last year.
