Spending her Christmas with Snoop.

This morning, it was announced that Lainey Wilson will join Snoop Dogg during his halftime performance at the Christmas Day game at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where several other artists will also be part of it.

The other three artists are from Netflix’s KPOP Demon Hunters, and considering Snoop is a legendary rap artist and Lainey is obviously a country star, I can’t really imagine how they’re going to pull this off, but I guess it will make for an interesting performance at the very least.

“Snoop Dogg’s Holiday Halftime Party during NFL Christmas Gameday will feature an appearance from the singing voices of HUNTR/X: EJAE, AUDREY NUNA and REI AMI, and a special performance from Lainey Wilson. Halftime of Lions vs. Vikings, starting @ 4:30 PM ET LIVE on Netflix.”

The game will air on Netflix, and it’s unclear if they will all perform together or how that’s going to work, but Snoop says there will be several other surprise guests:

“You’ll have to wait until Christmas to see who else joins Uncle Snoop. But trust — it’s gonna be a holiday to remember.”

Check it out:

Lainey is no stranger to holiday halftime shows, as she headlined the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Halftime Show in 2024, performing hits like “Heart Like a Truck” and “Hang Tight Honey.”

She brought out special guest Jelly Roll for their duet “Save Me,” and while this won’t be a solo headlining gig, she always brings the country, so it’s cool to see her included with some other huge artists.

In terms of 2025 as a whole, this will wrap up another big year for Lainey, which included her getting engaged to longtime boyfriend Duck Hodges in February, her extensive headlining Whirlwind tour, and also, her recent hosting gig at the CMA Awards, where she was one of the most nominated artists of the night. She took home Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Whirlwind and the coveted Entertainer of the Year trophy as well.

She also scored her 9th career number one song at country radio with her single “Somewhere Over Laredo.” The song was included on the deluxe edition of her 2024 fifth studio album, Whirlwind.

Lainey co-wrote it with her frequent collaborators Trannie Anderson, and Dallas Wilson, and Harold Arlen and Yip Harburg also received writing credits as the song interpolates the melody of “Over the Rainbow”, which was of course originally written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and performed by Judy Garland.

With wedding bells ringing and likely new music on the way in 2026, this next year is shaping up to be her most special one yet, but in typical Lainey fashion, she’s going to be working right up until the end of this year, as she’ll also be a big part of the New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash TV special.
