Megyn Kelly says Michelle Obama’s latest choice of podcast guest makes it clear her marriage to Barack is on rocks

Megyn Kelly breaks silence after rumors that she 'screen tested' at CBS News for role at network

Megyn Kelly has claimed the writing is on the wall for Michelle and Barack Obama‘s marriage after the former First Lady invited a couple’s therapist onto her podcast.

Michelle Obama invited Dr Orna Guralnik onto the podcast she co-hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson, to discuss marriage and relationships.

In the segment, Michelle confessed that she and the former president, who have been married 33 years, have to work to find things to talk about now that they’re children are adults.

‘We always had kids to talk about on a day to day basis,’ she said. ‘But now that we’re empty nesters it’s like, well, what are we going to talk about? We’re together all day.’

Michelle said often if either of them have a story, they’ll save it to share over dinner to keep the conversation alive then.

But she also admitted to other problems at the dinner table, expressing sometimes she wants to ‘smack’ Obama in the head because of the way he chews food.

‘The way you’re chewing makes me want to smack you up the head. Why is your chewing annoying me so much?’

While her comments appeared lighthearted and prompted a warm response from Dr Guralnik, Kelly said she was gobsmacked by the revelation.

‘She cannot stand him,’ Kelly said on her own podcast after Michelle’s had aired.

‘First of all, she had a couple’s therapist, which is very interesting, her selection of guests, and Barack wasn’t there.

‘She says it like we’re all gonna relate to sitting there at the dinner table with daggers in your eyes towards your husband or your mate, like he’s disgusting.’

Kelly went on a tangent speaking negatively about Michelle’s hair before returning to the Obama’s relationship to close out the discussion: ‘These two can’t stand each other. That’s the bottom line.’

Over the past few months they have faced ongoing rumors about their marriage.

The rumor mill swirled after her decision to skip both Jimmy Carter’s funeral and Donald Trump’s inauguration – but Michelle insisted both snubs were about putting herself first.

Her absence at the high-profile political events stoked divorce rumors, as did Obama’s admission in April that he was in a ‘deep deficit’ with his wife.

Speaking with historian David Olusoga in London last week, Obama fueled rumors further when he admitted he had spent the last few years ‘digging myself out of the hole I found myself with Michelle.

‘Now I’m at about level ground.’

In July, they addressed divorce rumors on the podcast.

‘There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man,’ Michelle said passionately about Barack.

She continued: ‘And we’ve had some really hard times. So we had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to.’
