Megan Moroney Recalls Ex-Boyfriend Telling Her She Looked Like The Grinch During A Fight: “That Will Stick With You”

I mean, I think she looks more like Cindy Lou Who… who was adorable.

This year, there was a viral trend on TikTok where people would make a certain face and show their profile, to see if they had a similar look to the Whos on How the Grinch Stole Christmas. You know, round cheeks, tiny little nose… they have a distinct look.

I have been told I look a little like a Who before, but never the Grinch… so yeah, I would imagine that would sting a little. And in the spirit of Christmas, country music’s own Miss Megan Moroney shared that she had a boyfriend back in the day that threw an insult at her that has apparently stuck with her for many years.

She recalled them getting into a fight, and he told her she looked like the Grinch. Moroney joked that the Whoville trend was hitting a “little bit too close to home” for her, and even though she didn’t love the comparison, she admitted that he might have been onto something:

“Guys, I’m going to be so honest, I’m not live, laugh, loving this Whoville trend. It’s hitting a little bit too close to home for old girl. So once upon a time, me and my first boyfriend got into a fight, and he told me I looked like the Grinch.

The mother******* Grinch. That will stick with you. So yeah, not a fan, but I’m gonna do it for you guys. Because I think he was onto something.”

She then did the trend and showed her profile, and I’ll let you be the judge of whether or not she could fit in in Whoville…

The jokes certainly on him now, though, because Moroney had a huge 2025, selling out shows all over the country and being one of the most-nominated artists at the CMA Awards this year, alongside Ella Langley and Lainey Wilson.

She also announced her third studio album Cloud 9, along with an accompanying arena tour which she’s already added dates to due to overwhelming demand.
