Country music star takes stage with new crew days after firing popular bandmates

Zach Top wasted little time moving on after firing popular backing band members Cheyenne Dalton Meyer and her husband, Jimmy Meyer.

Just days after Cheyenne shared the news, Top took the stage on Friday with the new faces in the fold.

Norbert McGettigan made his debut as the bass player in the band, and Ryan Joseph made his first appearance as the fiddle and mandolin player, according to Saving Country Music.

Top, one of the brightest young stars in country music, made headlines last week when Cheyenne, a popular rhythm guitarist and harmony singer, shared the news that she had been let go.

“Let’s talk about it …” she wrote on Instagram. “A little over a month ago, I was let go from my position with ZT. While this was unexpected, I want to thank all of you for following along with me on all of my adventures.

“I’ll miss all of the fun, playing great music, and meeting everyone one of you,” Meyer continued. “I couldn’t have done this without all of your kindness and encouragement. You all built up my confidence, and I have transformed into what I am today because of you! I’m back home in Missouri now, and although I’m not sure what comes next, I’ll still be here posting my daily life. If you choose to stay around, I thank you! Who knows, maybe someday I’ll put out some of my own music for the world to hear.”

Jimmy Meyer was the bass player in the band.

Saving Country Music said that Cheyenne and Top first met when they were growing up and she started working for him as a merch girl before replacing her sister-in-law in the band.

She reportedly did not know how to play guitar when she joined his band and was a fiddle and mandolin player. However, according to Saving Country Music, she learned to play guitar for the singer’s 90-minute set in a month so that she could be in the band.
