Zach Bryan Gets Trolled Over Recent Basketball Video

Zach Bryan has a lot of things going for him. Being good at basketball doesn’t appear to be one of them, as seen in a recent video.

Zach Bryan has a lot of things going for him. Being good at basketball doesn’t appear to be one of them.

In a recent video published on X, Bryan was shown playing some pickup basketball. In the video, Bryan tries to run a fast break after picking up a defensive rebound. However, his lack of burst and top speed allowed his defender to sprint the floor and get back on defense.

The result saw Bryan pass up a layup before planting his feet and seeking a pass back out to the elbows or three-point line. You don’t do that in basketball. Ever. You take the easy finish and go through your defender.

ESPN’s Pat McAfee certainly seemed to enjoy the footage, as he took some time to poke fun at Bryan during a recent episode of

“This guy sells out stadiums. We need to show respect to what he has been able to do with a guitar and his voice,” McAfee said. “Most ever at the Big House in Ann Arbor. Sells out stadiums. Okay, if you’re able to sell out stadiums… I have respect for what you’ve been able to do.”

“…They need to keep him away from the basketball court. I like that he’s doing sports for cardio. I like that he’s a sports fan. … Can’t have that on tape. Can’t have that on tape. Okay, we need to make sure that camera’s not getting out of there.”

Pat McAfee Didn’t Let up on Zach Bryan

McAfee has never been one to shy away from sharing his opinion. So, it should come as no surprise that he didn’t stop when saying Bryan shouldn’t be on a basketball court. He proceeded to break down why Bryan was in the wrong spot for the position he should be playing.

“Not only was it a travel and other things, it was also just… Zach Bryan’s working in the paint. Why they got him running the full court? You know, like that ain’t where he’s supposed to be,” McAfee continued. “So when I was seeing this, I just thought to myself, why is this being filmed? Okay? Why is his teammates letting it happen?”

Let’s be fair, Bryan was clearly just having some fun in a private pickup game. He doesn’t need to be LeBron James. Heck, he doesn’t even need to be Bronny James. Basketball is supposed to be fun. After all, Bryan has enough real-life stress to deal with. That’s what comes with being a country music sensation. Because that’s what he’s good at.

That’s what pays the bills.
