Elon Musk recently made headlines when he revealed information about his family life in a podcast. The South African-born billionaire said that he and Shivon Zilis, senior director of operations at Neuralink, have three children together, bringing the total number of children Musk has publicly announced to 12. Previously, information that the two would have twins in 2021 was published by Reuters based on court records.

In a recent conversation, Musk referred to Zilis as his “girlfriend”, indirectly confirming their relationship. This is the first time he has spoken clearly about his private life with the female technology director.

“My girlfriend Shivon is half-Indian,” Musk shared on Nikhil Kamath’s WTF? podcast . He also revealed that one of his and Zilis’s children has the middle name Shekhar, after the Indian-born Nobel Prize-winning space scientist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar.

Musk and Zilis now have four children, including twin boys, daughter Arcadia, and son Seldon Lycurgus.

Shivon Zilis is a familiar face in the AI ​​world. She graduated from Yale University and worked at IBM Research and OpenAI before joining Neuralink, the brain implant company co-founded by the Tesla CEO. Musk’s mother has publicly praised Zilis on social media, calling her smart and independent.
