Old school country music were disappointed but not surprised as one beloved ’90s group signed up to perform at Kid Rock’s MAGA music festival.

Since the line-up for Rock the Country in Ocala, Florida, was announced many country music fans were disheartened to see that Brooks & Dunn were planning to take the stage.

On Friday, August 28, duo will be performing at the Florida Horse Park as part of the two-day event, which also features Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Jon Pardi, and more. It comes as Kid Rock was dealt another massive blow in the planning of his music festival as he lost another major headliner for the event.

Taking to a newly posted Reddit thread, many long-time fans of Brooks & Dunn shared their reactions to seeing them signed up for the controversial music festival. One person wrote, “The 90s country girl still in me is disappointed, but not surprised, in Brooks & Dunn and Diamond Rio.”

Another added, “I’m a 90s country fan and boy have my Playlist been gutted lately. Ain’t Nothing About You used to be my go to ‘oh I think I have a crush’ song. So disappointed in Brooks and Dunn. I didn’t find out about Diamond Rio until they signed on this tour. At least Garth,Tim McGraw and Faith Hill haven’t let me down yet.”

Another chimed in, “Ugh not my Neon Moon.”

And someone else agreed, “Neon Moon is so good [crying face emoiji] Peak 90s country.”

Brooks & Dunn originally shot to stardom in the ’90s, and is composed of the duo Kix Brooks (Leon Eric Brooks) and Ronnie Dunn (Ronnie Gene Dunn). Throughout their thriving music career, Brooks & Dunn has released a total of 13 studio albums including Brand New Man, Hard Workin’ Man, Reboot, and many more.
